  8. Stephen your a lucky man as that viaduct is only down the road from me. Photos are very deceptive the above photos are taken looking from west to east where you are looking into a valley so all you are going to see is sky. But cross over and look at the bridge from east to west and the sky line changes completely. You then have mountains hills etc come into the scene. Below is a distance shot and a close up taken from the other side. You can see mountains etc behind the bridge. If you need any more pics let me know.
  9. Yep that site will do that to you:)

  14. I was just about to say snow at this time of the year John. Then I remembered its your winter down under. BTW what is the last coach on the passenger train. Is it a break van?
  15. Tom it's 2 airfix bridges joined together with some plasticard lengths and angles the bottom section is plastic channel from B&Q with an 8mm MDF trackbed. I'm not well up on bridges but looking at videos truss bridges don't seem to have any ballast on them so I need to do a little more research to see what I can do around the track bed. Maybe some channel running along side the sleepers to make it look like that's holding the track in place. Any ideas anyone.
  16. As I said we'll worth the effort. Just make sure you have a fine tooth razor saw and a sharp scalpel blade
  17. Cast a block of plaster cut to the shape you want and scribe the blocks of stone into it. Very time consuming but worth the effort.
  18. Dave I'm not 100% sure but I think it might be the same unit he was telling me he and to get back onto the place where he got them to get it to work ok
  19. I'm not to sure but I think Kirley had some of these units and had big problems with them maybe drop him a PM to see if its the same unit and if he could shed some light on it.
  20. The piers are made from plaster of paris and the retaining walls are resin
  21. Lots of resin and varnish. Paint the board black then put a layer of resin down let it dry. Then put some scatter down and more resin keep repeating the process until you get the look of depth you want. Then finish of with a couple of coats of wood gloss varnish. Make sure you do all this before you put your grass etc on your banks as it will only act like a sponge and start to soak up the resin and varnish
