Great to see this line getting new CWR track. Suggests the line is less at risk of closure given this investment. Impressive process to replace the trackwork.

Great looking wagons. Looks like same NEM pocket issue as with the Ballasts, Bubbles and plough vans? As a fan of kadee couplings it would have been nice had retooling fixed the NEM pocket height. First world problems, otherwise more stellar wagons from IRM.

Interesting. Back in the day did depots not have some form of APU for cold starts? (ie mains supply cable).

Right so Ted! Pleased with the latest tree (centre of photo). Mix of Seafoam structure augmenting plastic tree armature, sprinkled with scatter to look like leaves. A little finer and less clumpy than clump foliage. This is addictive.

Making trees is kind of addictive. Mix of plastic armatures augmented by seafoam fine branches and leaf material scattered on top after hair spray type glue. A light spray of brown before applying leaves gets right of any bright spots on the branches. Lots more to try more to learn, but its enjoyable. The risk is of overdoing it with too many trees After scattering leaf material onto armature branches augmented by seafoam extensions Sprayed with hairspray type of glue prior to sprinkling leaf material on Seafoam branch extensions added to Woodland scenics plastic tree armatures. This could almost pass for a winter tree.

Tree reduced in size and shape a little. This seafoam stuff is so workable. Looks less like they belong in the Rockies. Placed to disguise the bach scene joint A couple down the Ennis end. So much more to learn so much more to do.

First tree has constructed and arrived. Disguise joint in back scenes. Needs tweaking. Used a variety of materials. Lots more trees to do. Will experiment with materials. The structure here is seafoam covered with scatter for leaves.

00 Works have done it again. Beyer, Peacock & Co J24 class 475 arrived today from 00 Works. 00 Works seem to have more scale features in terms of detail on these gorgeous Irish steam locos. Delighted to have one as I was with their J15's, but this little 0-6-0 is so cute. 275 ready to run light engine to Athenry. No turn table at Gort so steaming in reverse. Some poetic license with time travel. 275 arrived from Tuam with a single cattle wagon, no brake van was required. J24 class

Anyway on code 75 track that's well ballasted we get away with the narrow gauge look of 00 track. (ie 16.5mm instead of 21mm).

Yes near the end they were tippex, used more on commuter trains by then and the limerick shuttle than mainline.

Yes SF and IFM, I have plenty of their coaching stock including Park Royals, Laminates and the bogie TOP as well as a tin vans and HLVs. The demand too small and specialised niche era for the main IMP manufacturers. Hopefully will have some brass versions later in the year.

Yip it fulfilled a demand for nearly 18 years and was quite adequate for its time. But things keep moving on, standards ever rise, expectations even higher. I'm not selling mine as they are part of Irish model train history.

Do you have any old photos of the goods shed from its hey day in the 1960s or 1970s? Perhaps from one of Jonathan's books? Old B&W photos would be a great help scratch building it. It was a great help to me doing Gort shed.
