Fab space. Enjoy, you have a blank canvas so the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Suggest get any lighting or back scenes sorted now while it is easier to reach across the boards and work before track is laid.

Ideally the metal pin or nail should be in contact with the area you have wet with a water PVA diluted mix for maximum conductivity. If spreading longer grass go easy on the application so longer heavier pieces falling do not flatten stands already standing. Built it up in layers slowly. Have fun and give it a good 24hrs to day.

Why is the earthing pin touching a metal rail instead of driven into the wet board near where you are applying it? Also for conductivity better to use a simple metal pin or nail rather than a galvanised one.

Yea the little guard man was a must. It is a nice kit, and goes together well. The only thing it lacked was built in wifi.

Provincial wagons CIE ex-GSWR 10 ton brake van, a photo build sequence for the record in its own thread. Parts assembled, deflashed and filed where required. Getting used to these fiddly brake stuff gubbins Kit goes together nicely once the parts are assembled and have been prepared Brake stuff added and kadee coupling added. Prior to dumbing down the former GSWR logo Even though the brake wheels won't be visible from outside once the roof goes on they had to be painted red. Prior to final fitting of the roof Had to put a little man on the veranda. A very pleasant wagon I'm delighted to have on the layout. Straddles my preferred era nicely.

Finished for now. Unfortunately I've only done limited weathering due to the resin pitting, a powder wash would just flll the tiny holes with dark wash leaving it looking rather spotty. A unique little wagon. Had to put a little man inside. Will try some limited weathering and finish off the lamps when I get the energy. All in all a pleasant little wagon. The Alan gibson wheels were a pain to get fitted due to the wheels slipping on the axles and changing gauge while being squeezed into the axles bearings.

Getting closer to the end. Got the bright former GSWR lettering painted over but still showing through. Nobody will be able to see the brake wheels when the roof is on, but I know they are in there so the red paint just had to go on. Alternative masking for the veranda innards in this other kit bash Quick spray session with five different colours used in rapid succession on various bits of the three old brake vans. And to finish up a quick airbrush clean after the last colour

Decals and I don't get along.

Agree but won't be holding my breath. Have just received some resin kits for same. The PRs had slightly more comfortable seats on the mainline versions than the cravens. From an exterior point of view the cravens seemed far more sleek and modern, almost as modern looking as the mk2's.Interesting photo above of the Craven marshalled up to a mk3 in a storage siding with a dutch GSV on the other side.

That's impressive. I had baby GM wheel slip with only 8 bogies but improved after following recommended fix. BTW, love the footage and track work

Hi @Rob Just luck I guess. FYI, I've ordered some Hycote XUK612 Grey Plastic Primer Spray from Amazon to try out. Don't know obviously if its the same chemical as Halfords, but both are made by James Briggs & Co. Amazon won't ship aerosol cans to here, so anybody ordering would need to use Anpost address pal to get around the delivery restrictions, but not parcel motel because they are NI based, whereas address Pal's collection depot on on the island of GB. I use address pal all the time to get paints from the UK. Bonkers referring to small model paints as HAZCHEM. FYI, some may be experiencing a supply issue with Halfords plastic grey primer during the CV-19 retail lock down. Thanks for the tip @Midland Man I hadn't planned to run them with ballast wagons, more just to have one laid up in yard sidings, and the other as a backup brake van.I'm sure they could run with some IRM ballast wagons late 60s perhaps even early 70s in bauxite livery as suggested above.

Working on Leslie's lovely ex-GSWR brake van kit got me back doodling with these two kit bashes after lying dormant on the shelf for some time, one destined to be an ex-GSWR plough the other perhaps the same or another invented ex-GSWR some type of brake van. If a goods train doesn't have a brake van at the end, IMHO it's not a train, just a collection of rolling stock without end. Donors were former Tri-ang Hornby soft plastic from about 1973. I would have played with these with my younger brothers. Doodling with half finished kit bash projects is fun cause the time line is your own. Jonathan ( @jhb171achill) I wish to assure you those black chassis will be a thing of the past once it comes to painting and decoration. There will be no yellow, not even the tea bags inside the cabin.
