If it wouldn't trouble you could you also post a pic of that wiring? I'm sorry I am asking for so many pics but your layout is like mine and my electrical skills are absolutely awful! When I tried to wire a while back I had no movement atoll .
Hi northman I am using DC for my layout. This is mainly because most of my locos are dc and to change them all would be a pain, but also because I find DC is easy to work with and isolating can be very easy via an plastic fishplates or self isolating points.
A T1 class 4-4-2t was proposed in 1915 at Dundalk for the GNR. Supposed to be a superheated(as built) version of the T class with a superheated boiler the same as that of the U class these locos would have had a tractive effort of 17708 lbs.5 were ordered in 1916 but the shortage of material due to the war delayed construction and lead to them being cancelled in 1919.
Could they use the Mullingar athlone line on emergencies? It's in pretty bad shape after the yard. Their axle load could seriously damage the track. But that's only my opinion.
Hi guys I want to know how to wire up sidings and a terminus up to the controllers. There seems to be a few methods with feeders, block wiring etc. going on hols soon so I want to get a bit done before I go.
I have MDF on my layout,I believe it is waterproof, that's what the builder said. Very durable stuff although the shed did need a good vacuuming after(due to the dust) but it seems more sturdy than the rest of the shed!
Could 2 201s pull a large train (eg. 14 -18 coaches for some reason) with a gent behind or the new non stop express or would it be unnecessary? Also how long would the new express rake be?
Would it be worth it though? I mean a good bit of shunting involved and for what? i get what you are saying and maybe if you put a camera a the front of the dot to show up on a screen on the 201(a bit eccentric maybe) and it might work.another idea(but a costly one) to have 2 201s at the front and back. Could they make the Phoenix park tunnel any bigger? Maybe a Belfast Dublin cork route could be worked out as in the 50s with the enterprise. I get that it would take a long time for the train to make the whole journey.
