  1. I would say it keeps going much further as I remember seeing what I believed was the line, at athlone, cut off just where a level crossing would have been
  2. There are good quality 3d printers but they won't come into commercial affordability for maybe 10 years. I was watching a programme and they were even researching how to make printed organs!
  3. If a pair of 201s were at the front and back of a train wouldn't that cause "hunting " due to the engine at the back like what happened with the hunslet on the enterprise reopening
  4. Still are there about 6 miles from Mullingar station
  5. You could use a tiny drill bit to open it up a bit,but be very careful as you could crack the rod
  6. Will we ever see a double headed train of 201s?
  7. Yes I heard that, don't think traffic from the mines was sufficient to build it though or something like that, though it could have been funds.
  8. Ahh that makes sense. I can't really tell the difference in the Shunter as I don't have another OO gauge Shunter to compare it.
  9. Maybe so but my HO diesel Shunter works well on my OO gauge track
  10. That would not be a problem today as HO scale seems to be the same as 00
  11. thanks mate
  12. If it wouldn't trouble you could you also post a pic of that wiring? I'm sorry I am asking for so many pics but your layout is like mine and my electrical skills are absolutely awful! When I tried to wire a while back I had no movement atoll .

Hi northman I am using DC for my layout. This is mainly because most of my locos are dc and to change them all would be a pain, but also because I find DC is easy to work with and isolating can be very easy via an plastic fishplates or self isolating points.
  14. A T1 class 4-4-2t was proposed in 1915 at Dundalk for the GNR. Supposed to be a superheated(as built) version of the T class with a superheated boiler the same as that of the U class these locos would have had a tractive effort of 17708 lbs.5 were ordered in 1916 but the shortage of material due to the war delayed construction and lead to them being cancelled in 1919.
  15. Thanks mate. Don't trouble yourself over them. How did you wire the terminus?
  16. Could they use the Mullingar athlone line on emergencies? It's in pretty bad shape after the yard. Their axle load could seriously damage the track. But that's only my opinion.
  17. another great bit of modelling, lighting and all! Looks great running around your layout, well done:-bd
  18. Hi guys I want to know how to wire up sidings and a terminus up to the controllers. There seems to be a few methods with feeders, block wiring etc. going on hols soon so I want to get a bit done before I go.
  19. Ok thanks mate. GVS is looking great:) your top 2 pics aren't showing
  20. Hi hunslet,if it doesn't cause you any trouble could you post a pic of the terminus throat please?
  21. Definitely,it can cause serious lung damage. One of the few cons of MDF
  22. I have MDF on my layout,I believe it is waterproof, that's what the builder said. Very durable stuff although the shed did need a good vacuuming after(due to the dust) but it seems more sturdy than the rest of the shed!
  23. Could 2 201s pull a large train (eg. 14 -18 coaches for some reason) with a gent behind or the new non stop express or would it be unnecessary? Also how long would the new express rake be?
