  1. Hi the frames are basicly the same as the shorter ones ,just a little stretched iso mounting bar depend on use ie ton 20ft iso carry Guinness cages or uniload containers . the frames are aprox 6 inches lower than the earlier build, this led to thebuffer shanks sitting higher than the headstocks again by about 6 inches . headstock's are a bit different as well. hope this helps i do have a basic drawing of this skeletal wagon ,will dig it out and stick it up
  2. Hi there can anyone out there tell me if they are still publishing the printed version of new Irish lines . I know that the on line version seems to have ground to a halt. also how many editions were published and up and until when (i understand that there were two volume twos published) Many thanks in advance .
  3. eire trains is spot on with his observations ,no foundry though, site was a steel fabricators, wagon bodies hoppers and the like but not cement bubbles whos tanks were built in sweden. beleive iso containers were made there to which were then certified for lloyds by cie at inchicore

  12. Leslie ash ? no thanks Jules Holland and Paula Yates tyne tee tv ah those were the days. or the itv - sky real lives series , the BBC one is a continuation series from the three series made for sky and itv London that was shown in the early 2000s each series contained 6 episodes and ran from 2003 to 2006, some of the staff that appeared in the early series are also in the BBC one. well worth a look at video 125 distribute the original 3 series on two DVDs I understand the show may be availabe on bbc dvd if the demand is high enough and that another series is tobe commisioned
  13. The Hornby track mat is a great base to start a beginer layout . it will get you used to setting up it needs some very basic skills to put together and more importantly it will be fun to use
  14. they also made iso containers as well as wagon bodies at one stage they were looking into importing budd carridges from the usa into europe and had put a tender bid in to provide carridges to cie which was as we know unsuccessful as cie went for derby brel mk 2 instead
  15. Truly a great idea. a 201 these coaches and maybe a mk 3 gen as well .would look great on a big show lay out

  17. Clifton has it he has had to re-order it its flying out. He at the irrs this tuesday night from 19.45. I wish he would do mail order
  18. have found this drawing archive very useful
  19. The 201s are in the shade because of all the attention being thrown at the new 071s , give people a chance to buy the one they want and not have the panic of being the first to have one. The model is fantastic especally when compared with the original lima one or the kit from mir, remember the excitement when both of these came out, Paddy has left us spoiled for choice and that is something that we would have not been able to dream of 15 years ago.
  20. The O71 countdown is well underway this is by far the best model that i have seen Irish outline , Paddy should be very proud of what he has achieved over the last decade . Lets hope there is enough for everyone demand is going to be crazy.
  21. Looking at the pre production models over in marks models they look great. Good move producing them perfect for new 071s .
  22. the 2700 it looks the part fom a distance the finish is good its a great little runner ,maybe if over all sales are good then ,bachmann or other mainstream companys will market maybe a 2900 class. yes i am aware that i can buy well made railcars over here but the cost makes them unavailable to me, unless i gave a massive win on the lotto.
  23. Who says the art of model building is dead , which is more fun designing and building it or running it. what a wonderful thing to be able to do. I wish i had that much skill.
  24. will ask around for you and take a look in the loft to see if i have any left over, Maybe we can get him to start making a few kits the interist is there.
