  1. Great engine and sound Eamonn and love the rake she's hauling.
  2. Some more pics of the layout as it develops
  3. Agree, they look more like real trains in the old livery.
  4. Hi David, These dmu's are top class, if still avail can you pm me details, cost etc? Many thanks Tommy
  5. Have to agree strongly with hidden-agenda, the layout is looking fab with loads of potential but valuable rolling stock will have to be protected - curves and point-work close to edges and I know from bitter experience how easy and often derailments can occur with costly results. Great layout taking shape.
  6. Eamonn what would English Electric have thought of one of their stable thoroughbreds being used to supply parts to a metorvik?! If the DC controller is still available I might have a shout for it - if can get itself up the N11! Thanks, Tommy
  7. Just thought people might be interested in these pics of the route of the old Shillelagh Branch, photos showing remains of bridge which carried the line across the Aughrim River and bridge under the Arklow-Rathdrum road at Woodenbridge. Last traffic went to the old mill at Aughrim in late forties - early fifties. Regular passenger services were curtailed during the early part of the WWII and never resumed to their normal levels. These photos show the line immediately after it has diverged from the Dublin-Rosslare line at Woodenbridge.
  8. Anthony it looks amazing as usual. It's some project and you must get great enjoyment from that layout. What did you use for the ground cover and grass in the fields? - they look great and what trees are they on the hillside? Keep the pics going. Tommy
  9. Best of luck Baby GM, it will take shape all right. I love your weathered 141/181, she looks brilliant and I bet she's rearing to roll out on the new layout.
  10. Fantastic layout, great display of rolling stock and the Railcar is brilliant too.
  11. No bother John, I'm sure there is a buyer out there who will take them as a lot and best of luck with it. Tommy
  12. Keeping them interested - this lad likes spending short periods operating the trains but he doesn't yet respect speed limits around curves! Those passengers behind the Lima 2012 must be experiencing some G-forces!
  13. Looks brilliant Frank - Photo of the 141/181 reminds me of the viaduct near Thomastown with the liner passing.
  14. Hi John, I know you said you were not splitting but if you want to give an individual price on one of the 181s?, I might be able to get the funds to take one. Sorry but would not be in a position to take them as a lot. Tommy
  15. Just a few more pics of The Brickworks - couple of the locos are away in the works and the scenery is coming on at a slow pace.
  16. Thanks Anthony, I was trying to have them both before Sunday as will be down in Eamonn's country and he was going to throw them in for me. I may put it back on the long finger as I would not attempt installing these in a 141. They also had no 201 sound chips in Belf or I would have got one of them - I believe they are easier job to manage? I might just put it on hold and order a chopper from Seamus - he still has that one in BR blue for 135e with free postage. Great sounding machines and would go well with my lone sulzer. This I might add is being finance by the wife! The Hattons 57 appears to be gone off the website. P.s. the Class 57 with dcc sound in Freightliner is back on Hattons at 119stl.
  17. Thanks Glenderg, Great money saving tips and the best has to be no. 25!!
  18. Hi Barl, Thanks for that tip on the scotch pad/hedges. I find hedges, walls etc very prohibitive price.
  19. Hi all, I was in contact with Robert at Belfast Model Shop this morning, I was looking to purchase the sound chip and bass reflex speaker used in the 141/181 class, while Robert had the sound chip he had no speaker. Just wondering would anyone out there have a suitable speaker for sale. Going on the hols to sunny Wexford at the weekend and Enniscorthy Man (thanks Eamonn), had kindly offered to fit same to loco while I was down in the South East. Many thanks. Tommy
  20. Hi irishtrains2730 - can you post some prices on the listed items (if available), to give potential buyers an idea of the prices you expect to get? I will try take some bits if I can - might be interested in track and scenery items. Many thanks
  21. Well done Wiggy your layout is amazing and the rolling stock too.
  22. Well done Eamonn, great to hear the sound of an A Class in DSER country again.
  23. Thanks Anthony - she needs some of your 'treatment' I think - that roof is as much too clean.
  24. Think I'll have to beg the wife for a loan of the credit card for one of these!
