1. Absolutely magical there Eamonn.
2. Well done there Barl, your layout looks brilliant. I love the church, and the line based photo of O82 passing the pub is very realistic.
3. Found the following in MR, Dec 12 - on detailing the Dapol oil tankers
4. Found the following from MR Dec 12.
5. I got my lone 071 class on Saturday, already she's gone to stable in the wife's cabinet, there she will stay for a while, spending more time looking at the loco than at the TV! A big thanks to the staff at trains planes and toys who supplied the loco at 159.99, and I even got my 1 cent change! As I operate on a very restricted (almost non existent) budget, would anyone have suggestions for a relatively cheap rake of rtr wagons to run with the O71 when she finally gets onto the layout.
6. Conor - the loco and the oil train look brilliant as does the MK1 Gen, fair play.
7. Yes that's about it Wiggy, I will think it may be the chip alright. Thanks again to you and all the lads for time and advice.
8. Thanks Wiggy - I will try these suggestions - I didn't want to tell the make of the DCC system - it's a dynamis!!! the chip is Bachy, lights work on DC, not on DCC.
9. Hi all, I have a 181 class that is chipped and recently has stopped running on a dcc line. I have cleaned the track, loco wheels etc and have ran other dcc models on the line with no problems. The loco will run on a dc line, but only in one direction. Would appreciate any ideas or advice on what the problem might be? Also, am I correct in thinking that dcc fitted locos can be used on a dc line but that dc locos are best not run on dcc lines? Thanks in advance, Tommy.
10. Fantastic looking rolling stock there Boskonay - fair play to whoever the owner is.
11. Well done Eamonn, those pair look the business and so realistic on that layout, especially at the crossing.
12. Warbonnet they look fantastic - powerful looking beasts.
13. Hi Anthony, I heard a fleet of large GMs crossed the border yesterday! Looking forward to the pics and the transformation through the weathering. Enjoy them everyone.
14. Good points there lads and never thought of the axle loadings being higher than 201s, even though the 67s are 22Ts lighter overall. The low RA must also be a restrictive consideration for TOCs in the UK. Very nice looking loco, pacy and efficient and can keep timings on the faster routes. For me they are one of the nicest looking locos in the UK. I reckon PW staff were not always happy with the 201s either, I remember them running on DSER route on jointed track, hauling heavy ferts and IFI ammonia trains and did they make the track move under them. No surprise that a PW man walked each beat daily to keep a close eye on things!
15. Seamus well done on that price and it really is exceptional value for a superb looking model.
16. Thanks Dave, Railer etc - price aside, they really do look the business and can't wait to get one.
17. Warbonnet that 67 looks great. They are a great machine, great to see a GM powered Bobo that's also built for speed work. Pity the IR board didn't think of that type of spec loco in nineties prior to ordering the heavy 201 class. They'd look great in p/p trains on the Cork/Belfast lines, don't know how their availability matches up to 201s, but I'm sure they are well up the reliability tables in the UK.
18. The locos appear to be a great price at 159.99 - is this only an online/special offer price, or will it be the regular price in the model shops? It is great value for such a detailed model. Will it be the freight and NIR liveries out first and are they expected in local model shops after the long weekend? Sorry about all the questions but would anyone also know the total cost in Euro of a 071/111 bought complete with sound chip and ready to growl? Thanks in advance.
19. Lovely stuff there Kirley, the Hunslet and DMUs are great.
20. Thanks lads, as I say that kit was already built when I got it and it only cost me a few euro. My building skills are still very much below basic level I'm afraid.
21. Hi heirflick - I think it was built from an airfix kit alright. I bought it at one of the 'Bray Toys of Yesteryear', found that Sean Ryan often has some great deals on kits and rolling stock.
22. A bit of running to test out the PW before the arrival of the O71
23. Thought this might be of interest http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/toys/4015702 To the mods - apologies I might have posted to the for sale section, but spotted it and thought it may be relevant for British Outline.
