  2. Brilliant - I can't wait till Feb. Hope to see the pics sooner Anto!
  3. Happy Birthday Fran and remember - Your as young as you feel. Tommy.
  4. Thanks Blu Bianco - those locos certainly are worked hard! Expensive looking repairs needed in the last two vids.
  5. Santa dropped in a Class 59 and the boys were happy to test her out.
  6. Lovely looking model there Shinkansen, is it a GM or a GE? Very nice.
  7. A few more clips - reflecting the modern scene as DMU'S rule.
  8. Hi Kevin, I love this layout and the night shots are excellent. I will look forward very much to some more pics. The name is fantastic and I know this D.S.E.R. station well and it can be a bleak spot in the middle of the winter. Your layout is coming on great. Well done.
  9. Hi again Broithe - I got two live wires onto the picku-ups under bogies and still not a kick? no lights either. Eamonn had advised removing the chassis for a closer look. I got the handrails off but it was taking so much effort to squeeze the body at the recommended pressure points, I stopped as was afraid to force or break something. In the end I took Georgeconna's advice and dropped the loco into Marks for Jim to have a look. I will let you know how it turns out and thanks to all of you. Tommy.
  10. Thanks Broithe and Georgeconna -advice is greatly appreciated.
  11. Hi Broithe, Yes I will give that a try that sounds a good way of getting directly to the problem. I'm only hoping that the motor is not burned out. She was running well up to a few days ago and would never have the loco running on full power, maybe 1/3 or 1/2 power. Thanks Broithe - if it is burned out what will I do next? Thanks in advance. Tommy.
  12. Thanks again Broithe for your help and advice. I will check out those pick-ups again and try to determine if dirt has got on them and the back of the wheels. There isn't even a slight movement or a hint of a light coming on - she's completely dead. Many thanks. Tommy.
  13. Hi Broithe - thanks for that. I did just as you advised and the good engine just towed the faulty one - I could not get a jolt out of it - no lights, no movement of any description. It is DC and I cleaned the wheels, track etc but no joy? Would appreciate any further suggestions Broithe. Tommy.
  14. Hi lads, I think if have managed to short out a 141 class on DC track. She has ran well then suddenly stopped and will not run. Have tried her many times today and no luck. If I pop off the body is there anything I can do to test for this problem - also if it has been shorted can she be salvaged or repaired? Many thanks:( Tommy
  15. Came across this and thought it very impressive.
  16. No problem there Fitz and yes Seamus is sure to have a decent selection at very competitive prices.
  17. Ah yes the sound really finishes them off as a top class model.
  18. Steven it looks brilliant there. Great to see Thomas getting a run on the cement bogies. Love the maintenance shed and the modern prefab offices. The prize item for me has to be that weathered 141/181 - it is fantastic and adds hugely to the overall realism of this excellent layout. Tommy.
  19. Fitz - don't know if you have seen this ad or even if it's still valid? Might be worth checking out even though it's a full set. http://www.adverts.ie/toy-cars-trains-boats-planes/graham-farish-370-251-by-bachmann-deisel-fuel-freight-train-set/2126568

    Family bereavement .

Sorry to hear this sad news Anthony. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this difficult time. Tommy.
  21. Well done roryon, great layout and I love the fencing, borders near the lines and the bus shelter.
  22. Thanks Snapper that was a bit of a headache for operations. Given those circumstances the delay does not seem to have been too severe.
  23. Its never boring Steven as Rich says its great to see individual projects and components of the layout coming together and developing. There is a lot of work and attention to detail required on a large layout of this scale and quality. For the likes of myself it is raising the bar and giving food for thought for making improvements, albeit, on a much smaller and less complex scale.
