  1. Sorry lads, love those locos so threw up another few pics, including the 150 kevrail - wouldn't mind handing it over to Anto also, irishthump - the A is a SF and Anto hit her hard with the weathering - improved them no end, in my view, and just enjoy looking at it and the GM. Have sent up another couple of locos for similar treatment. My next project is to get rid of the remaining thumb tacks and get all the track ballasted. Thanks for the comments all, and Anto's work is class.
  2. Hi Kevrail, I will stick a couple of pics of the DMU on but its only a 150 with a couple of decals.
  3. Apologies to the Mod and all - for posting double pics.
  4. The return of 039 and 187 from their visit to Anthony's workshops in Newry, many thanks Anto.
  5. Top class modelling and great video work - next time RTE run a programme on Irish Model Railways you'll be first in line Stephen.
  6. Here's another couple lads http://www.adverts.ie/other-antiques-collectables/lima-locomotive-collectors-pieces/2318617 http://www.adverts.ie/other-antiques-collectables/lima-train-with-tracks/2050785
  7. Good stuff purple, at least it is good to see the Permanent Way being preserved in some kind of order - some interest is being taken in the route when they are prepared to spend money clean it.
  8. Anthony as you know this is happening more on more on the real thing! Soon computers will be running our lives completely!
  9. Great stuff there Frank and fantastic rolling stock.
  10. What about this for a 66? http://www.adverts.ie/toy-cars-trains-boats-planes/class-66-diesel-locomotive/2637085
  11. Came across this one lads, someone still trying for good money for Lima 201s http://www.adverts.ie/toy-cars-trains-boats-planes/lima-208-no-212-in-ie-colour/2637120
  12. I enjoyed the series very much and thought it showed Irish Railways, and the country, in a very good light. Can't be bad for attracting potential British visitors here. The 22ks looked very smart and modern and compared very well with any of the DMU's Michael traveled on in the British part of the series.
  13. Great camera work Eamonn and gets across the magnificent detail and quality of this layout.
  14. Great Patrick - the era concerned is an excellent choice and apart from the marvelous rolling stock I think your ground cover and scenics are also amazing. If I could do a fraction as well as that I would be very pleased.
  15. Thanks garfield - that really is something. 120 is an impressive speed. I wonder would 2x3 car 22Ks be able to match that?
  16. Good man heirflick - Did John Delorean ever pay maggie and the british taxpayers back for taking them all for a ride back to the future? Bet the Bank of England were not too happy with his 'time machine' project!
  17. Good video Anthony - Drogheda was a very busy and interesting location at that time. How sorry I am that I didn't go there more often to see the various movements - If I only had a time machine - back I'd go with the digital camera.
  18. Thanks Glenderg - I didn't know an A was involved in a serious incident in Cahir at that time - that incident must have been very close to the very serious and fatal freight accident on the Cahir - River Suir bridge? Was it a Woolwich that went through the deck at the head of a loaded beet train? Thanks.
  19. Interesting report their heirflick very tragic for that man and all involved.
  20. I came across a couple of pics which may be of interest, source: Barry, M. ' Tales Of The Permanent Way ' Andalus, Dublin, 2009.
  21. Yes Eamonn, I heard from a very reliable source many moons ago that an 071 hit 115 on a section in Tipperary. I reckon they could go far beyond 90Mph
  22. Hi lads, Have often wondered If anyone knows the 'official' top speed recorded on an Irish Railway. I have often heard stories and whispering on the grape vine about some amazing speeds achieved! but wondering is there any recognized max speed that stands as the official record in Ireland? It's an interesting topic and I would love to see a non-stop record breaking run between Hueston and Kent Stations. I wonder would a 201 or 22K be chosen if such an experiment was ever to be tried? Is an 071 the record holder?
  23. Awesome stuff there Anto, serious horses up front and massive trailing weight. Imagine the wait at the crossing for these beasts to pass - better to wait though!
  24. Brilliant Kirley. I love the rural scenes and there is a great sense of depth with that curve and back-scene. The gospel hall and trad Irish village are very authentic looking and the station canopy also looks superb. The use of fishing line is a great idea and top marks to the lady hanging out the washing on a typical windy Irish day.
