    Looks well - which version of the kit did you buy, as I always found his pricing to be both high and bit strange that the glazing is separate when its needed as part of the kit

    FY wanted it to look more like a BR Class 52 Western than the '201' design which predated the IE one by 11 years, so FY got their wish. The 201 has the bodyside ribs which were designed to match wagons that FY had at the time The main challenge was shrinking the SD40-2 design into the British loading gauge and keeping all of the complex electronics that allow their incredible haulage capacity

    Know the feeling, I've a small mountain of Cambrian kits along with other stuff collected over the years, something very calming about assembling Cambrian Salmon/Sturgeon/Tench kits though, especially when you look at flangeways attempts

    It will be this style, seen it on (8)113 but yet to see a photo of 111/2 carrying them, model pics yes but not the prototypes. Same was fitted to the 071's when new The handbrake wheel info will be the same as the 071, so out with the magnifying glass maybe. AFAIK they have not been upgraded to the bicycle wheel fitted to the 071's either

    Photos taken during the LED head/tail lights upgrade phase, 225 has had the housings painted yellow, 222 has not And filling in of the steps under the lights, 222 has had it done, 225 not yet. The following year (2006) the green/silver/yellow intercity livery

    There was talk of a similar small shunt loco to be acquired for use in Inchicore to replace the last of the 141's, but usually a spare 071/201 does the honours now

    Bachmann have announced the 69 and Cavalex have announced the 56... Hornby one although a nice model is now far too expensive (Latest RRP £218) and they dont seem too bothered with making the Romanian versions again (56001-030), which sell for far too much when they pop up on ebay and elsewhere. Open goal for another manufacturer to make what people want for a more reasonable price with current levels of detail, sound, lighting etc

    The Model Railway Society of Ireland are proceeding with our plans to host our Bi-Annual Model Railway and Hobbies Exhibition, so save the dates for 2022! Venue: Saint Paul's College, Sybil Hill, Raheny, Dublin 5 D05 C673 Date: October 29th, 30th and 31st 2022. (Sat. Sun. Mon.)     Its detailed in the ITG's 'Traction and Travel' books, I know the 3rd edition has lots of info, published around 1997 There were a few proposals made on how to dispose of them, including the above mentioned placing inside a tunnel, offshore disposal at sea, 'controlled' dismantling locally and then burial of the removed Asbestos, and transporting the stock to England for incineration. The quarry was the cheapest and easiest option. Recall seeing pics when the quarry was drained a few years ago, the remains of the various coaches and railcar bodies were still visible
