Correct, plus the usual facebook heroes wanting to restore it to mainline condition. Was originally preserved in place of 001 by Irish Rail but quickly turned in a spares box for 003/039

Hattons are registered in Ireland for VAT so anything you order directly (not using the locker service) should arrive promptly
  3. Would have taken at least an hour if not two to winch it out of the plane and onto the trailer, need to keep everything reasonable level so nothing was damaged, not at least the plane If they were needed for freight they would all be out and about. Its a clear indication of how much freight has been lost down the years Not that important in the bigger scheme of things, 121 was one of, if not the first EMD loco to be exported to Europe and it was not preserved for this reason, despite rumours to the contary
  4. After previously saying that they would have it in May and never Easter again . Easter is the wrong time and there was me thinking WMRC had learned after a few times....

And as if by magic my stuff turned up, nothing to do with charges ultimately, just the sheer amount of stuff caused it to do laps of D12 for the guts of a month So as clearly proven, if you want it soonish, courier - DHL,DPD,UPS etc. Take the hit, its just how it is now alas, back to pre 1992 days
  6. Just the way it has gone now alas. The late and much missed Jim Bayle used to do repairs, but even he used to roll his eyes at people wanting to fit DCC to Triang Princess's....

I am now in the same quandary. Items from Scotland doing several laps of the D12 sorting facility. They say that its not marked correctly and the onus is on the sender who I've been in contact with to classify it correctly. If the seller does this does it need to go back to its country of origin or can an post go on the information they can be given. I'm thinking the former only.........
  9. A very comprehensive range of RTR GNRI stock, produced by IRM. Now long sold out and commanding very high prices. They were produced due to One person said they were leaving the hobby due to a lack of RTR GNRI stock and they obliged that person
  10. No, just gently pop them out of the cab ends with your fingernail, then give the body a firm pull and the body with one cab will come off. the second cab is attached separately
  11. Unlikely given theres a mere 3 coaches in the pic, after 113 arrived they rarely worked on the Enterprise. Its deputising for a 80 class set here
  12. Nice, definitely a local service given the length of the train, my guess is Portadown to Bangor, they tended not to stray too far from Belfast once they were off the Enterprise, especially for passenger work, Freight and the odd CE train was different though!!

Avoid postman padraig completely - use/ask for a courier instead. Parcel2go are good if the sender cant/wont do it
  14. Its an off the shelf product ultimately, look closely to see the 5'6 rail too, although it could also be Iberian Gauge
  15. All depends on the work intended - will out lift an excavator and quicker onsite than a mobile crane. Big Mobiles often need a space cleared/created whereas this one can use the existing rails. All depends on the job naturally. This has been bought for civil engineering work, unlikely it will be used in a re-railing operation
  16. Great pics, not long after this a massive fire destroyed the carriage shop, at least one of the imported MK2's was lost also IE got good use out of them given they were destined for scrap initially, they traded a few old C class locos in for them with Vic Berry in Leicester, UK
  17. Dont forget you also end up with 8113 in mid 2000's onwards condition with LED lights. If you want to be really strict a dab of red onto the sides of the light clusters
  18. Great Shot - possibly the last time they worked the Enterprise, paired together and not top and tail. Was requested by the ITG and NIR obliged, I'd say all of York Road were onboard just in case.... 111 liveries - Its all quite simple-ish. Keep in mind theres 1 livery that Murphys didnt do, and its unusual that he didnt do it. Theres only 2 basic liveries, granted the second one has been modified over the last 30 years but the basics are the same almost As delivered - light 1978 blue with orangeyreddy ends and 'stencil' NIR logo 111 - 1981-1989 (as produced by Murphy Models) 112 - 1981-1992 113 - 1984- 1989 Second Livery - darker blue with yellow ends, and chunky NIR logo - not modelled by Murphy Models, the only gap in the 071/111 range.... 111 - 1989 - 2010 (approx) 112 - 1992 - 2003 113 - 1989 - 2003 (approx) Later changed with larger warning panel and larger LED lights along with '8' prefix on the number, (112 still has not got it so its still 112) 8111 and 8113. 8113 also spent a time running around with its NIR logo on the side missing Everyones fave, 112 while on long term loan to IE - 2003 - 2006 - (as produced by Murphy Models). Look closely to see its missing the IE drivers window frames. Was repainted in 2006 in the same livery but slightly different, main change being the name plates are now red/white with red text. Still has the IE window frames http://s3.amazonaws.com/rrpa_photos/126475/DSC_0159p1.jpg Current Livery for all 3 8113 now has the LED lights but otherwise its as produced by Murphy Models HTH
  19. I think regarding the maroon and blue ones it was whatever was handiest to grab and there were more of the maroon and blue ones as the 80 class sets were shuffled around Need to consult the books but there were two DBSO's initially and I 'think' a 3rd was added later. One ended up being adapted to run with an 80 class set, this was one of the 3 sets that IR rented in the late 80's - early 90's The DBSO's when mixed in with the other Enterprise stock were usually in the middle of the set, it did not matter ultimately where in the rake, as long as they were inside the 2 gennys
  20. Not so sure about that - heres a pair sandwiching a perfect Mk2B formation, the roof exhausts and 3 compartment windows per side are the giveaways for the Gennys - also (need to clarify) some only had grilles on 1 side Heres a 208 with 2 Gennys, and the aircon grill bar diner, ex BR coach 546, which now runs in the UK. Can happily say I remember this period vividly Some 1978 livery footage here, watch for the Hunslet chugging away too, possibly one of the last scheduled uses for them on the Enterprise. Interesting that CIE didnt always use their MK2D's on the 'Beller' - probably as the risk of hijacking etc was still high and the Cravens/Park Royals/Laminates were more expendable.... Theres also 1 shot of a long rake of the 7 compartment former first class stock in a much longer rake than normal, probably a GAA/Horse Racing/Concert special
