  1. Some great layouts but the lighting spoils a good day.
  2. Where are these sound decoders available? Is that 071 in the video fitted with the original speaker? Sound great!!
  3. Kadees with the NEM fitting is the best option.
  4. Uploaded a couple of videos of the layout. See at the links below. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  5. Some recently delivered Intermountain SD40-2's https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  6. Some pictures of the recently acquired Tangent Hoppers. These cars are excellent, no parts falling off and printing is excellent. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  7. How did you stick the brass onto the plastic sides??
  8. Is that the Gatwick Driving Trailer at the rear of the last photo??
  9. Some more photos of the GMD1's including the 6 axle version https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/

  12. Thanks for the comments
  13. Yes I found the Hornby Mark 3 coaches ok. The glazing is a pig to get out without breaking so I gave up and just fitted new windows by flushglazing. See the results here in photo and video. The genny coach is yet to be constructed. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  14. Thanks rebelred for your comments I have uploaded a couple of videos of the rake. The genny van is still to be constructed.
  15. A couple of images uploaded of my Irish Rail Mk3 set that I have just completed apart from the genny.
  16. I think McCullough's in Bangor have a blue NIR GM in stock. I saw one yesterday but I cannot confirm which one.
  17. There was also a model of Ballymoney knocking about. It was at Cultra show if I recall correctly.
  18. Try to find a local car components shop that mixes paint. When you find one ask for RAL2011 and this does the job. Here are a couple I have done. We Have a good supplier in Ballymoney but I think you maybe at the other end of the country.
  19. I would also say DCC is the way to go. The Lenz 100 set that I have is now 18 years old and still going strong, I got its software upgraded a couple of times but has performed faultlessly. Lenz is expensive but after having the set 12 years I let the handset fall and smashed the LCD screen. I returned it to Lenz for repair who sent it back repaired and no charge. Lenz also have a good overload cut out in an event of a short circuit, some other sets require a separately purchased short protector and I have heard of a few horror stories of people frying decoders in locos etc. Lenz set now looks dated but you cannot always go on looks.
  20. Great Photos and lovely modelling.
  21. Some more sad photos at the link below. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  22. Thanks to everyone for there help.
  23. Thats it, or here it is in all its glory behind 113.
