  2. by chance i came across this scene - a 071 pulling a single tara mines to the smoke, giving a headlight and horn salute to a railcar....
  3. lovely clip there GM - thanks for that
  4. my Dad (god rest him) would drink nothing else but bottled guinness by the neck. i have great memories of sitting on his knees listening to him telling stories while having a few:)

great work there richie , but i think its too much -could be a turn off at first glance....its a but of an effort to read. i would go pics with headings so the message is got right off the bat.

stephen, this site means the world to me as i know it does to the lads! it has become a part of every day living ..it is automatic that i will log on a few times a day. the info, advice and the stunning array of modelling and paintwork, not to mention the compulsary banter makes this a truly unique irish site and im proud to say that im a member! long may it continue......you are not calles 'Bos' just for being good looking (so im told) - i applaud and thank you for your great and time consuming work on the site
  13. top class work tom -they would look stunning on any layout!
  14. love it! one question comes to mind - as the jeeps were at opposite ends, how did the drivers synchronize the engines speed espically at starting off?
  15. nice tips on the weathering richie!
  16. now those were the days! engines left in ticking over from friday evening to early monday morning. manys the time i sat in one - nearly always an A class or a baby gm.....seems like only yesterday - great memories! always amazed me that the engines were never vandalised, unlike poor old 186, stripped of her brass fittings a few times(the f-ckers!) ps, any 071's stabled in portlaoise are always shut down overnight.
  17. leslie, first choice has to be the flats, followed by cement in both liveries (love the orange!), then the bulleids. bogied flats would be a good runner for the future.
  18. jesus shem - you better start spraying some 071's in the stobart livery!!
  19. the true test is if it could knock out the mother-in-law for a few hours!!!
  20. fantastic shot of a busy galway...always loads of motive power back then!
  21. she is a beaut - excelent paintwork:tumbsup:
  22. is it stronger than the standard?
  23. great stuff lads...more please!
