  1. You could try washing up liquid and hot water, it should come off if you rub it with you finger nail. Anything more could mark the surface and avoid the numbers/lining. Do you have a picture of the loco?
  2. I just use normal primer and it works fine Halfords primer is very expensive so I buy mine in the car parts shop, it's half the price.
  3. Lots of info there and a lovely model of the signal cabin. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Up close shows every thing, but it won't be seen. I usually cut as close to the decal as possible so the carrier film is less visible but the light catches the top edge.
  5. That looks good, can we see it close up?
  6. Another beautiful build That's why your ranked as a grand master.
  7. I think it might need a little more of a pale green tint, but it could just be my screen. To me it looks like a pale blue/grey.
  8. It's a pity after all that work, maybe 10 coats of paint might blend them in a bit
  9. They do look a bit high and even with paint they might be too visible. Test a bit with paint to see how they look.
  10. If you do the grills with fine wire blackened they won't be so visible. And if you paint the van silver you won't need eau- de-nil transfers.
  11. I think 3D printing is the way forward for small runs of niche models. Keep her lit
  12. Great work, so much fiddly bits. There seems to be grills on all of the windows which might look better done with wire instead of flat brass.
  13. That will not hold much, that building looks like a prison. I have one of those road rollers 3D printed still not painted.
  14. I just ordered some from Arran c-rail.
  15. Very nice, they will look good behind a loco or in a goods yard.
  16. Lovely scenes, the people help to give it more life.

  18. IRM H VAN I got a set of IRM H vans and wanted to have a go at weathering them. The upper body was done only with weathering powders and the underframe was done with enamel paint.

Yes it is based on the Bullied flat wagon, a bit.
  20. That's a nice wagon and looks well. Now take a few days off for Christmas
  21. A work of art Alan, would be a shame to paint it
  22. Perfect modelling.
  23. I am doing some of these just now and I am doing the two versions. The paints I will be using are Humbrol 89 Matt Middle blue and Revell 52 gloss. The curtain sided wagons would be pale blue body and Revell 52 for the curtain. Put the transfers on the curtain which will sit better on the gloss paint. The metal sided wagons will be done with light grey and 89 blue. You can weather them with some light grey and light brown. Seal the transfers with varnish before weathering.
  24. They would be nice to have if someone would print them for you. You would still need underframe, bogies and motor.
