....But the main line is a very different kettle'o'fish indeed.

Nailed it.  Fish oil can be used as fuel and steam engines are known as kettles😃

228 unusually shunted 216 about YR on Thursday morning. There were rumours the loco was failed and 228 was to jumpstart it which seems quite plausible.

Over the next few weeks there is a 2350 ex Dublin formed by the DD off 1650 which runs empty at 2000.

233 has wheel flats... 0950 ex Dublin.

@jhb171achill incase you hear a 201 set banging along

Just seen an orange 071 pass Malahide on the up line with about 9 hoppers and a grey 071 at the Belfast end…

I went up on the 10:50. It arrived in Dublin from the 08:00 up, with 216. It departed for Belfast five minutes late, due to an engine swop. They had taken 216 off and put 206 on.

This set departed again on the 14:00. Just short of Drogheda it was held at the signal as the 13:00 up set was stuck in the platform - dunno what loco was on it, but it had failed there. 206 (+ 9002) arrived in Connolly 20 mins late as a result.

In other news, there were two Malahide Trams at Fairview. One was out on test runs the other night. I saw it gliding silently past Malahide at 02:30 about 3 nights ago. I am told about six may have been delivered by now - are the others in Inchicore?

Signalling shit itself between Lansdowne and Donabate.

I think more 90s are due to come in later in the year.
