DJ Dangerous Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Will there be anybody from the DCDR on-hand at the North Down MRS show on March 23rd and 24th, to accept donations from good folk who may want to offload some cash? 1 Quote

We have a table booked. We’ve been to a few model shows before accepting donations and selling stock from our shop 6 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted March 3 Posted March 3 So, I have a question... When, not if, but when, IRM release an 80: A. Will there be a limited edition DCDR version? And: B. Will it be an authentic representation of the one in the video? 3 1 Quote

It’d be hard to get the graffiti on 90 and the rust on 752 exactly right. 2 1 2 Quote

Aye but Joe Lawton’s handy work m was quite iconic on the wagon and added to it…..whereas 90s graffiti…..well if it was done by a well meaning enthusiast trying to cover up the rust with rattle cans….they didn’t do a good job 1 Quote

Unfortunately I was unable to go due to a personal commitment and my replacement had to pull out at the last minute due to a medical emergency, so we were unable to attend. Fingers crossed for the next show! 1 1 Quote
Signal Post Posted November 5 Posted November 5 This short video popped up on YouTube, I'm sure that many on here will enjoy it. A great portrayal of the wonderful work being done by our friends at the DCDR in Downpatrick and a reminder of the extreme adversity that they have to work with. Let's hope we have a drier winter this year. 9 Quote

Let's hope we have a drier winter this year. Thankfully the railway reopened since that was filmed, it started operating with the 450 on Halloween trains the weekend before last. However, a huge amount of money and work is still needed to repair and replace everything, particularly vital tools like rail grinders, sleeper drills, impact drivers, etc. It will also be a good few months before we have the steam loco operating again Edited November 6 by GSWR 90 1 Quote
