BosKonay Posted July 1, 2025 Posted July 1, 2025 We’d certainly hope we keep updates clear and frequent and the status page tracks all updates. In the case of the 071 there was no data so we felt it not suitable to leave it on the status page. If that changes we can add it back in

You don’t need to buy track to run your PlayStation on, nor stock for it to haul. You buy a loco and you’ll want to run it now, pulling a train. You buy a games console bundle and that’s it, ready to go out of the box. Agree on the “don’t miss out” philosophy regarding the likes of the Hunslets and 800’s. I assume that both are being produced in quantities far lower than the A Class. Well you need to buy a decent tv/monitor, maybe a gaming chair and a good internet connection...... Its one of those arguments, different levels you can take things to

Buying a gaming monitor and a gaming chair would be way above the norm. There’s no comparison between a single loco and a gaming console, sorry.

So little Jimmys round and round trainset on the floor and Minatur Wonderland in Hamburg are the same thing, ok 1

Ironically, if he did get either included with his loco, there may be a chance of comparing the two as ready to go purchases.
DJ Dangerous Posted October 25, 2025 Author Posted October 25, 2025 Bump for this thread, with Murphy Models likely attending the SDMRC extravaganza in Blackrock this weekend!
DJ Dangerous Posted yesterday at 18:46 Author Posted yesterday at 18:46 So, with the tragic passing of Paddy Murphy, things like 071’s, 201’s, Mk3’s, Cravens and Dart+ have kind of faded away. Does anybody know what has happened to Paddy’s various projects, and his tooling from previous models? @Der Rechtsanwalt seemed to have a lot of inside info at one stage, on which projects were at what stage, and what order they were being produced in. I’m sure that some were actually in production last year. 1
Warbonnet Posted yesterday at 18:51 Posted yesterday at 18:51 I've been told by the Murphy family that the Mark 3 project will be completed and delivered. After that, we'll wait and see, but @WRENNEIREmay know more. The 071 project may be interesting and indeed tricky following recent Kader and Bachmann UK upheaval (they were made by Kader, who own Bach UK) 3 2 3

Brendan8056 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I was given a copy of the Summer 2026 "Bachmann Times" the other day, and it has a whole page obituary to Paddy Murphy. I don't know anything about "upheavel" at Bachmann UK and Kader mentioned in one post. Perhaps I missed reading about that in any printed and published articles. The obituary was titled "Paddy Murphy:The godfather of Ready-To-Run Irish Railway Models". I will quote a sentence "At the time of his passing,Paddy had further models under development and the family plan to progress these to completion". That sounds very hopeful for all the items planned before Paddy died. 1 2

The recent upheaval I allude to is the closure of the Kader factory for making model trains (they now have to use independent factories like the rest of us) and their recent firing of their UK MD who has since stood trial in recent weeks for possessing indecent images of minors. 2 3
