Aussie Phil Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Spent a couple of days making some peat wagons the first of which has returned from my paint shop. Masking was incredibly difficult but in the end the time I think has paid off. Next up is addition of couplers and bogies before its first test run. Have also been working on the layout for the first time in a little while. Today I finished off the concrete slabs that I made from balsa wood and painted with a mixture of water paints and powders. Then finished with various ground covers and textured woodland scenic products. Then a hedge row was put in along the main straight. Finally started the plastering and with hopes will have it all down and base coated with brown paint next week. Any questions feel free to ask and I look forward to your feedback 3 Quote
Garfield Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Wow! Just... wow! The concrete slabs look fantastic, as does the wagon. Quote
Broithe Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 This detail of the coupling of the passenger wagons at Stradbally may be of interest. Quote
hurricanemk1c Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 If you need any detail photos of the couplings at Stradbally (of all types) give me a shout via PM as I have got them all (I think!) Quote

The Derry Road Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 AP first class modelling, and nice to see the turf side of railways modelled. Great to see and thanks for sharing, keep the pics coming. TDR Quote
LNERW1 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 This looks incredible. I was about to take out a baseboard and start planning for a BnM layout in the exact same scale when I happened across this. Unfortunately I don't think I can ask @Aussie Phil about this as he hasn't visited the site in nearly a decade and I must say I fear the worst. It's a real pity that we haven't seen more of this layout. 1 Quote
