UP6936 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I echo heirflicks comment, looks great. Might have a go myself if I can get a few wagons for a decent price Quote

Dunluce Castle Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Kinder egg plastic shells on a dapol chassis? Quote
UP6936 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Apparently a kinder egg and a Dapol prestwin is the easiest way to go about it. Not sure if the new, hinged eggs work though. Quote
Seanw12 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Just stuck on the sides of the EGV and I'm going to spray primer on it later Quote
Glenderg Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Are you not going to put the panels on the roof? Quote
Seanw12 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 I am after I spray it with primer Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I am after I spray it with primer May as well do the panels before the primer, otherwise you'll be priming the roof again. Quote
Seanw12 Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 Anyone know what's the best thing to make a small hill on my layout? Quote
BosKonay Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Polystyrene packing / extruded foam works well, you can carve it to shape with a breadknife and then cover it with modroc (plaster impregnated fabric). Depending on the size, you can also scrunch up newspaper / waste card and cover it with the modroc too... Quote

Dave Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Hi Sean, I use pink foam available from Woodies for €9.99 a sheet of 1200mm x 600mm x 60mm deep. Glue it together with PVA and shape it with a carving knife. You can paint it dark green then apply scenery. Quote
BosKonay Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 That looks brilliant Dave. Do you apply paint and scenery direct to the foam? Quote
