I went to this today, and almost met Mike 84D, but he was caught by security when trying to leave his house this morning..

Ballyconnell Road was there.

And plenty more interesting stuff.

Gresley Beat is crazily good - the joins are almost invisible, even if you trace them from the edge - and there's even lamps along the tunnel walls - do see it if you can. You could spend an hour watching it. The chap in the picture even looks like the sort of bloke that would have a layout like that...

The pics aren't really the best - it's a dim hall and I don't like to flash....

Great pics Broithe, thanks for posting. Have to laugh at the report on RMweb - moaning about mud, parking, quality of the pasties and the tay. They've no idea how lucky they are judging by the quality of the layouts!

no guinness?

I'm not even sure if such things were even available.

This is the car-park today, after the water's drained down by about three/four inches since yesterday..

..there some big holes around, where people have really got bogged in..

I missed a good show but theres always next year! But I have not finished the tunnel yet and the lights came on from the watch tower!! Thanks for posting. Glenderg you are right, many Brits just dont realize how lucky they are with high quality shows almost every weekend. And I dont moan about the damn soap dodgers. My good lady thinks there should be a smellometer at the entrance and all who fail the smellometer should pass through a sheep dip. Be a lot of soggy people at some shows!

Ha ha, I had meant to mention that particular gripe being missing. Very hygienic bunch in stafford, says I, not to mention the "tables too high/too low" perennial bugbear not evident either. I've seen a few oddballs and quarehawks at the shows over here, but I've never had the urge to activate the sprinkler system from the patrons "humm". I spose the phrase "great unwashed" has to come from somewhere.....=))

he first thing I did after I got home from Warley a few years ago was shower myself twice after coming into contact with some swamp creatures. The bang off them was unbelievable.

The buildings at Stafford are mostly used for cattle and dog shows - there is an inbuilt air of 'life' that is only slightly masked by the fumes leaking from the heating system.

Rucksacks seem much less in evidence in recent years.

some superb layouts there!

It really is one of the better shows - big, but not huge - far less manic than Warley - and fairly accessible from most of the country.

..and only a couple of miles away..
