Remnants of the black'n'tan / supertrain / orange & black era...

Saw an Expressway bus yesterday which was in the recently replaced red, white and orange livery. It recalled to mind the original "Expressway" branding in the 70s, when CIE simply replaced the cream on the upper panels with what looked like standard railway orange - perhaps to make the bus look more "main line".

So, public transport orange is not yet dead. It's still on some service buses, and still on the stored 201s in Inchicore, as well as the odd window frame on a grey 071!

Actually, what GSR probably means is the several 141s stored out of traffic at Inchicore. Forgot about that....

So some Expressway buses are the last "tan" in service!

He was asking about the Black and Tan locos, JB! ;)

071 has an orange wiper but i Don t think any of the other grey 071's have orange windows, quite a few of the black/silver 071's have orange window frames/doors and others have quite a bit of orange showing through especially in the fan areas on the roof. 112 also has orange frames. Theres also a mark 3 & craven near Kildare plus the stock in west clare. The c class in Carrick on Suir is still in Supertrain livery.

144, 175, 162, 177, 147, 171, and 134 are all in the Intercity 'tippex' livery in Inchicore, and 141 is in black and tan. And there's 6105, 7146, 6402, 4402, 4108, 4110, A3R, 124, 152, and 190 in Moyasta as well, don't forget, C226 at Carrick-on-Suir, G613 and 146 at Downpatrick, 142 at Whitehead, 3185 in Inchicore, and so on.

There are other coaches here and there with black and brown/orange as well - 3189 and 6111 at Downpatrick, 3163, 5408 (and I think 5106?) at Whitehead, 1558 and 6205 at Naas, etc.

Confused - I thought these locos had since been cut up, are these locos still intact at Inchicore?

I count the tippex livery as in the black n tan area. Some of the 141s at inchicore have been partially dismantled, rotting away in some sidings, deep inside inchicore
