enniscorthyman Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Some photos for anyone like myself who might be doing a model of A39. Quote
Warbonnet Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Sweet pics, thanks for sharing! The ITG did a great job on her. I just wish there was a good model of the As, they are my favourite Irish loco along with the 071s. I just can't deal with the Silverfox one sadly! Quote

I know what you mean, but I suppose the SF A and C class are not bad when you consider the Q kits and Lima class 33 repaint. Quote
Warbonnet Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Absolutely, I just keep thinking how good it would be if Paddy had a go! Quote

BosKonay Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Wow they really did a stunning job on her! Look at that engine bay!! With even 121's in doubt, it might be a while before we see an A Quote
scahalane Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Great photo's, just the detail I need to finish my own SF model. Quote

Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I remember that engine room floor was very slippy Quote
enniscorthyman Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 I remember that engine room floor was very slippy I remember you wanting to weather A39 ROFL. The ITG have done a fab job on her,as you can see with the condition of the engine room. A lot heavy cleaning and painting, and the same can be said for 226 in Carrick as the work is simply fantastic when you consider how long restoration is going on with limited manpower. Quote
RedRich Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Do you know if 146 is going to stay in the IE livery Eamonn. Rich, Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Rich I don't think they have any plans to change it Quote
Garfield Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I'd say it's possible they might repaint it once the cab repairs are complete, as that'll need a lick of paint anyway. JHB would know more about it... Quote

Rich,[/quote The last ITG journal did not mention any change in 146s livery from what I remember Rich, but did show the repairs that are ongoing to her front. She got a fair old slap in the puss, which has also shown some corrision work that was discovered when panals were cut away. The other cab will be checked in due course as well. Quote
heirflick Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 nice pics eamonn- id say you have sleepless nights thinking of that day you were there! what kind of mishap happened to 146? Quote
enniscorthyman Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 nice pics eamonn- id say you have sleepless nights thinking of that day you were there! what kind of mishap happened to 146? I dont know the full story on what happened to 146,but she did get a entire full front of the cab rewelded back in place. The day that I was there with Anthony and Keith (Mrsound Guy) was a stunningly fab day.I was in such high spirits that on the way back we got some grub in Anthonys house and I could not eat anything due to the rush of A39 to the head.
