Book Wanted: Cork, Bandon & SCR by Ernest Shepherd
Georgeconna replied to DiveController's topic in For Sale or Wanted
See the old Goods Shed have been finally Demolished... just the Station left now. -
Hil Lads, Manage to grab a few more hours now that the kids are going to bed earlier so these are currently on the not much work bench at the moment. Should be kicking into 10 more bubbles next week, 2 MIR 071s and 2 huns.. The ballast wagons are shapeways and dapol chassis. Heavily weighed down the perform nicely, Even my Merchany Navy can pull em just about!! The dapol couplers are certainly not the best. Next up are the Familier MIR bubbles, There are the Resin Chassis versions, Just as about to finish them I discovered that the Waterslide decals were in fact Stickers for the Irish Cement Logos. Sneaky job to do that as you just could not use em, Decals were grabbed from Studio Scale Models range. Next up are a couple of Buses. A Ryan bus KS, A KC and a Van Hool from Jim Poots. Great kits these are in all fairness! Love doing them Finally a repaint and decaled Baccy 3F, Coal was still wet when I took the photo.

SteveiB, They for a couple of Chaps and have new homes now. I am not taking up making kits anymore as I have got a mountain of stuff to get through and the time to build vs time I actually have is not quite working out!. If your looking for a brake van, Try DLSAnthony as he makes stuff for people I think still or Tony Mirolo?

Have you got some trains running around yet. Stunning work. should be great when the Greenery goes on!!

Hi lads, Proceeding with Glacial progress on the Brakes so need to edge them over the line as I more stuff on to go!! On the stripes I tackled them with some masking tape and that failed as the paint got pulled off the brass despite used etch primers, Tried Hand painting them and was not happy with the out come so I turned to my trusty aircraft decal box and pulled out an old extradecal Black Line set I had bought years ago, Well I got a few of em!!. You can get them From Hannants in the UK So in the end I sprayed them Humbrol 69 (the wifes fav Paint colour) gloss yellow, after a few coats left it dry for a week of so and then the fun began!. using a new blade I roughly cut the angles in the Transfers so as to make them match up a bit easier onthe Corners and cut them into 3 pieces an then lined each one up and evenly spaced them as best I could with out losing more hair. I used some setting solution to soften the decals, Its called Microsol and thenI will seal them in with a coat of Gloss varnish or Clear. The one in the pic is still setting as I only put the decals on 5 mins beforehand Thats it really. Sorry about the 1st piccy, dunno what happened. This modelling larks is a battle! Hope that helps. All the best.

I use a nail sissors, curved and Straight types. I solder them, others glued them Same results really but the solder I feel will take bit more punishment!

Cheers Lads, This nearly went in the bin as had a couple of mishaps with the finish, Not 100% happy with it but shes done. As a pilot said about the Blackbird, you travel fast but do everything slow. Some great books out the on the BB, Paul Crickmore is one for instance. http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/26626.Paul_Crickmore B-58, Say no more, Must dig out the1.48 one I have in storage!! G
