  1. I'm sure that one of the lads posted that one of the 13 is going to be a unit... DART, 22000, 29000, 2600, 2700, who knows? I'd suspect that one will be road vehicles, one will be a new large wagon, one will be an expansion of the Mk2B/C coach range, and one will be a P42 re-run. People lost their minds for Container Liners, Keg Liners and Ferts, they have to be on the burner!
  2. Your trackwork looks outstanding!
  3. That third photo is incredible. That's a very similar viewing angle to how we'd remember seeing them in real life, and you're weathering is excellent. Have you re-wired the cab lights to be directional? It looks that way in the first photo but I'm not sure.
  4. Wow, incredible offers. No excuse for anybody who hasn't already stocked up. The warehouse will be empty by Monday... Hope you have a container of something arriving soon!
  5. Delighted to see that. The guy is obviously missing out on some things that niche-within-a-niche Irish modellers would know, for example "SuperTrain", which is understandable if he's young, British and hasn't experienced certain things for himself. His issues with design / packaging / information are valid, and supported with evidence, ie are constructive criticism, but he does not allow these to take away from an otherwise outstanding model. Hopefully, manufacturers in general learn from the comments of influencers such as him. I see some commenters underneath his video suggesting IRM wagons to run with the 121, and suggesting that he reviews an A Class. If he does an A, hopefully he understands the relationship between IRM and Accurascale, and thus what the A means for future UK locos. It'll be a while before my own A's get here, but from what I've seen here and on YouTube, Sam will be blown away by the A. Sam's Trains takes a beating on here, but I suspect that some of that is prejudice rather than judgement. He addresses the unsuitability of the custard and cream coaches in his video, so is obviously well aware how blasphemous that is. Hopefully, somebody tells him about IRM's Black Friday sale tomorrow and he gets himself a load of wagons to review!
  6. What can you guys pull out of the hat this Black Friday? Everything is selling out too quickly... There'll be nothing left to put on offer... Unless there's a secret announcement on something that was hidden in the container with the Tara's. Something large, blue and white, and buoyant, maybe?
  7. Received notification this morning that my order shipped. Slightly circuitous route to get here so it'll take a while, but it'll be worth the wait! Somebody, possibly Garfield or Murphaph, posted a photo in another Tara thread, showing a blue and a brown Tara side by side. They were almost indistinguishable apart from a few areas, possibly the buffer beams, and obviously the G1 and G2 lids.
  8. Looks like nice Canarian sunshine in that photo... If so, she travelled a long way!
  9. Whereabouts on the loco was that? Wasn't it only a quarter of the loco that was painted like that? So would a manufacturer run a limited edition that's three quarters rusted and missing doors, and a quarter trial 201 livery?
  10. Firstly, my apologies if there is already a thread on this. I've searched back the last year or two and cannot find one. Just thought that it might be an idea to have a resource thread like this one for news and information on the preserved mainline diesels on the island. I know that the RPSI have B134 looking like it's nearing completion, B142 awaiting repairs at Whitehead, and B141 and 175 stored at Connolly. The ITG have A39R and 146 operational at Downpatrick, plus 226 and C231 under restoration at Carrick-on-Suir and Downpatrick respectively. In storage at Moyasta, they have A3R, 124, 152 and 190, while B103 is stored at Carrick-on-Suir. A Class number 015, owned by Jackie Whelan, is also stored at Moyasta. If anybody has any more to add, please do so! I've linked each loco number to where I got the information, so as of today it would seem to be accurate. Thanks, @Westcorkrailway. I had forgotten about the A55 shell at Hells Kitchen, Castlerea. I didn't include the shunters as I wasn't sure that they were considered as mainline locos. B113 at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Cultra, is also new to me! Hunslett no. 102 is also at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum!
  11. Have to get that @Dempsey fellow to fly down here and do some weathering. A lot of weathering, actually. @Rob, your layout is something else. Many of the photos look almost real. You have a talent for making off-track spaces look realistic, not over-crowded with evey square cm home to something.
  12. That pin-striping is lovely, and has a very "RPSI" feel to it... I wonder if there's a subtle hint there that I'm missing.
  13. Those beautiful 29000's already wear a gorgeous green livery!
  14. Dear IE. Please stop with the teasing, and just paint some God damn 201's like this! Now!
  15. Have to disagree. The 201's are gorgeous locos. Massive presence about them, just dripping with charisma and power. A more prudent decision would have been ordering 201 locos built into identical shells to the 071's, and all push-pull equipped. Hopefully, if IE ever order more locos in the future, the shells are identical to either the 071's or 201's.
