How did you manage to bank the curves like that? I tried but it was either not noticeable, or I had derailing on exiting the curves.

Exactly. Those two locos will probably go for €450 each, so €900 for an appropriate loco or pay Chris less than a third of that for one in the correct livery.

Insane when you can buy one from Chris Dyer, repainted into any livery you like, for less! PM must be facing quite the dilemma - get NIR locos out to haul the NIR coaches, or get coaches out that have only the A's available on the shelves to haul them.

Hey, how come they're allowed a photo and we're not??? Going to look excellent together, but the Bachmann's will need IRM's magic "bogie and lighting" kits! Look at the bump stops and handles on the IRM coach! Incredible!

Some sort of Facebook or Twitter announcement would help in that case, I must admit. Expecting a website update would not be fair - updating social networking sites is far quicker and easier than updating a website.

How do the new IRM Mk2 B/C's look when compared to the Bachmann Mk2A models from a few years ago? Any chance of a sneak photo from @Warbonnet or @BosKonay? As in, if somebody were brave enough to repaint an NIR coach into IR / IE livery, or if IRM were to launch and IR / IE range, would they look well when mixed together in a rake? Looking at you, @murphaph!!!

Bumping this as @flange lubricator highlighted it in the thread on IRM's NIR Mk2 B/C announcement... Some of us are waiting with baited breath to see if there'll be a surprise Christmas announcement on some IR / IE variants!

I see mentions in this thread of Mk2D composites and firsts being converted to standards. First, when did these conversions take place? And second, what did they entail? For example, did converting a Mk2D first into a standard involve changing it externally from seven windows to eight? Did it go from having both bathroom windows on the same side to having them on alternate sides and ends of the coach? Were the doors blocked off or replaced with windows when the composites were converted to standards? Did the composite bathroom windows already match the standards? Thanks!

@gm171 kk got the windows right, somehow... I guess the windows also came from an 8113 donor.

So a Murphy Models 112 on an 8113 chassis, as per @gm171 kk's model, would be appropriate for post-June 1990, and Murphy Models 111 would be appropriate for pre-February 1990, more or less?

Just bumping this up as it's suddenly very relevant due to IRM's new NIR coaching stock! Is it fair to assume from @hexagon789's post that all three locos, 111, 112 and 113, had yellow panels by their 1989 and 1990 re-paints? So they went from red panels to small yellow panels to large yellow panels to small yellow panels? Here's a photo of 112, dated 27th May 1990, courtesy of Adrian Nicholls on Flickr, presumably just before repainting with yellow panels? And another of Adrian Nicholls' photos, showing 113 on the same date, deep blue with small yellow panels:

I reckon that there are a huge amount of 111's and 201's out there already, crying out for coaching stock... I personally know of six NIR locos in need of coaching stock, and I'm sure they are the rule rather than the exception. Another run of 071's would be a treat, specially in grey and in NIR livery, though!

Will there be a few thousand of the lighting kits available seperately? I'd like to be able to retrofit my MM Cravens, MM Mk2D's, Bachmann Mk2A/B's, Lima Mk2D's, Silver Fox Mk3's and Silver Fox GSV! Also, can the wand be installed somewhere on the layout, for example underneath a bridge? So, as each train passes underneath, the lights alternately switch on and then switch off each time? Or, does the wand have to be activated by pressing a button or something? Is the wand bi-directional or do you need to start at one end?
