2b or not 2b? Mark 2b in OO/4MM from Accurascale
DJ Dangerous replied to Warbonnet's topic in British Outline Modelling
Am I correct in reading from the formation guides that you could mix Mk1, Mk2A, Mk2B, Mk2C and Mk2D in the early years, but not a Mk2E and not a Mk2F? And in the later years, you could mix any Mk2 with some Mk3's? -
I think that @trainboy means that the motor is not turning the wheels, and is just spinning. IRM sent me instructions on how to dismantle the loco and apply superglue to the shaft driving the wheels, as I had this issue myself. Was quite a while back, but if you contact IRM support directly, they are super to deal with.

That's such a shame, after everything you guys have been through with the recent flooding and damage. Fingers crossed for the next show!

I wonder if a Dutch van would fit the IRM modular approach better than a Mk1 GSV. A Mk1 GSV would overlap with the UK Mk1's, though. A Dutch van could run with such a variety of coaching stock, Craven's, RPSI Mk2's, IRM's very own Mk2's and Park Royals.

Rest in peace, aul' Kenneth Williams!

I don't know whether it's fame or infamy... But I love it!
-
You and your phrasing. Just received an email saying that IRM still have some of these coaches in stock! For anybody, like me, who thought that they were all gone, happy days!
-
These coaches are going to be incredibly sought-after in no time, people will be killing each other for them. Emailed all of my stuff to customs last night, biting my nails today while waiting for them to bill me for mine, can't wait to see them in person.
-
Slightly off-topic but the closest match I could find... Who the Hell has been stalking my profile here on the forum???
-
Here we are, literally two years later, and I am happy to say that I received a letter from Customs yesterday, looking for money before they'll release my RPSI Mk2 coaches. Been a long wait but I'm sure they'll be worth it. What does that "Page does not exist" thing in my last post, mean, @BosKonay? Had I posted a link to a thread that has since been deleted?
-
Cheers for that, @Georgeconna. I avoid RMW, even though I have an account, as there are just so many angries on there. I'd spend my whole time arguing and defending people, never actually getting anywhere. So the brake blocks are redundant for 21mm running? Are they glued on or friction-fit?

Can let you have one of them for €100. Have a mule heading up on Tuesday who may be able to bring it up and meet you during the week. Would have to be Dublin. Alternatively, I can post it. Got a postage price for @MOGUL last year, similar size parcel, think it was a little over €20, not fully sure. Bought these direct from BenBenModels in China. They had them for sale for something silly like €160 or €170, so I made an offer, then we haggled, and settled on €100 each for the six. This is their eBay store: https://www.ebay.es/str/onelink888 They currently have KP's at €65 to €70 each.

I hope that Bangor is a good weekend for the DCDR, along with everybody else!

Can the bogies themselves be widened by splitting down the centre and padding out? Few eBay items that may be of interest to somebody. Four Murphy Models 121 Class locos for €585 EURO: https://www.ebay.es/itm/315237495493 Three IRM NIR coaches for €345 EURO: https://www.ebay.es/itm/126370551473 Three LIMA NIR coaches for €225 EURO: https://www.ebay.es/itm/315237476900

IRM and Accurascale websites tend to be glitchy on the mobile. Tried ordering Warwell's from Accurascale the other day, the ones with the GPS bogies... NO bloody shipping available to Canarias, wagons sold out in minutes, yet I received an Accurascale order of HUO's only a few weeks beforehand. I was tempted to book a flight up there and go throw rocks at your house! Pre-order button for oil tank wagons comes and goes. Definitely missing on desktop, refreshed the page several times and nothing, left it about ten or fifteen minutes and didn't pop up like it does on the mobile. Screenshots attached showing time-stamps. Running Firefox 123.1.0 on Android 8.1.0 and Firefox 124.0 and Windows 10 Home. Screenshots attached. Have not tried on iPhone nor using alternate PC browsers, but from other posters, it looks like the problem lies with the IRM websites not functioning properly on Firefox for Android and Windows. Also, oil tank wagons only appear under "Collections" but have no heading on the website. Screenshot attached. EDIT: Forgot to mention, disabling AdBlockPlus doesn't make a difference, I had thought that may have been blocking the button from popping up. You can see in the last screenshot that it's disabled for the page.

This is what I see, but after a few minutes, the Pre-Order button will appear. Sometimes takes one or two reloads, sometimes five or ten.

IRM Is Sucking Diesel As Fuel Oil Tank Wagon Announced
DJ Dangerous replied to Warbonnet's topic in News
Just keep refreshing the page. It will load eventually. It's like a plug-in or pop-up or one of those widget things, appears after the other ones like the chat and rewards have loaded. -

It sounds like that would require a newly tooled chassis: I'm sure we'll see them eventually. -

Don't be so rigid bodied, no need to put a filler cap on the puns just yet. That was a greasy one, sorry. Also woefully Esso-teric. -

Sucking Hell, this will loosely-brake the bank, I'm oilready in the red! EDIT: How does one pre-order? Clicking the green doesn't do anything, and there's no black button as with previous pre-orders: -

Get somebody to record it for you using Bandicam or a similar program: https://www.bandicam.com/ Fabulous piece of software. -
That's where the Canary Islands get even more interesting. For banking and finance, the Canaries follow Spanish law, so comply with the EU. Taxation here is legendary, and one of the reasons the mind boggles every time a British family without a word of Spanish between them decides to uproot, sell up, quit the jobs in Tesco, and open a bar here... You have four different bodies collecting tax; the local county councils (31 counties in Tenerife alone), the government (cabildo) of each island, the Canarian government and the Spanish government. Imagine trying to comply with the requirements of all four! It's not easy, believe me. You also have insitutionalized racism. Many (not all) Spanish view the Canarios as a lesser people, beneath them, who should be treated as such. The Canarian accents are mercilessly mocked online, the Madrileños being particularly fierce in this area. There are many stories of Canarian business people flying first class without checked-luggage, as there is such a high probability of their luggage going missing or being damaged when they land in Madrid. Anyhow, I digress, it all adds up to a very colourful life! Stolen from Wikipedia:
