  1. I’m quite sure that somebody posted photos or videos of the Suburban Mk3’s with Intercity branding in their later years. @hexagon789 posted info on some crazy Suburban / Intercity Mk3 consists a few years back.
  2. 7135, 7141 and 7165 from the L149801-2 pack should have a more red shade of orange. 7129, 7151 and 7411 should have a more yellow shade of orange. EDIT: 7135 and 7141 also came in a pack with Mk2D no. 5228, and the two Mk3's in this pack had a more brown shade of orange. The toilet windows were not painted white on these two, but they were in the other packs. Suburban Mk3 coaches have different windows to Mainline Mk3 coaches. Suburban Mk3 coaches ran with the Mk3 DVT and a 121 / 01. Mainline Mk3 coaches ran with an EGV, no DVT. Did they have little drivers cabs at one end?
  3. Received an email from FlickR this evening, which may be of interest to some, as it may affect uploaders and downloaders of IRRS material. This is translated into English using Google Translate, so may be a tiny bit off: Flickr. We're contacting you to inform you about an upcoming change to free Flickr accounts. What's changing: Starting May 15, 2025, Flickr will restrict the download of original and large photos (over 1024 pixels) from free accounts. If you're using a free account, this update applies to both your own content and content shared by other free members. Additionally, videos stored on free accounts will no longer be downloadable once the change takes effect. Why we're making this change: We're addressing the misuse of free accounts as cloud storage for original files, a practice that violates our Terms of Service and negatively impacts the performance and experience of Pro members. By limiting access to original and large downloads from free accounts, we can help preserve the integrity of the platform and continue to provide a high-quality service to our Pro community. What's not changing: Your original files will continue to be stored on Flickr. Medium and small file sizes will still be available for download. This restriction will not apply to Creative Commons-licensed photos (unless they are private). Flickr Commons members are exempt from this change and will retain access to all download sizes. Want to continue accessing original-size downloads? Upgrade to Flickr Pro before May 15th and you'll continue to have uninterrupted access to original and large downloads. As a Pro member, you'll also enjoy unlimited storage, ad-free browsing, and statistics. You can access and download all your content and associated data, including original files, at any time by submitting a request through the Flickr Data section of your account settings page. We understand that this update may impact how you use Flickr, but it's a necessary step to keep our platform healthy, fair, and aligned with our community guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact our Help Center. 4. Any hints about future A/S locos?
  5. Spot on, there. A lot of our conventional wisdom comes from an era when locos weren’t the powerhouses that they are today. The A/S / IRM A Class will probably tackle much much steeper grades, even with heavier loads and more resistance, than a steam loco from twenty years ago. Testing the start/stop on a long plank is a great idea.
  6. Will check my running numbers when home. Pretty sure that one pack has s more yellow shade of orange and one has a more red shade of orange, from the factory. Don’t think there were mixed shades in the same pack.
  7. Don’t forget:
  8. I think that @Sean was working on something similar, but it went on hold. Maybe he can offer some advice.
  9. Say hello to The Griffin and The Moon Howler, both 1/43 models from Hachette. Not as well-built as IXO / Premium Classixxs / Altaya / DeAgostini, but nicely liveried, and worth it if you can get them for a decent price. The Griffin, Scania 143M, Hachette G-1470004, and The Moon Howler, Volvo FH16, Hachette G-1470005.
  10. Those Palvans look quite nice!
  11. What are the running numbers of each Mk3 in each pack?
  12. Lucky lucky man! Those sets are hard to find online.
  13. Thanks, @NIRCLASS80, they look delicious!!!
  14. Wow! Only the sound-fitted variant still available, base model has to hold the record for A/S / IRM’s fastest sell-out???
  15. Fabulous shots, @Fran, thanks for posting them. Extra beneficial for those of us a tiny bit too far away to attend in person.
  16. I like that orange D5579 a lot. Looks to have been a short-lived livery, 1963 until January 1966, so definitely a Rule One loco.
  17. Sorry, I should have added that the wheel-puller that’s on the way is also from Fohrmann: https://www.fohrmann.com/en/mini-wheel-puller.html It made sense buying both from the same place, as the postage costs to here can be quite high.
  18. Went with this one for back to back: https://www.fohrmann.com/en/wheel-spacer-h0.html I like the fact that it’s adjustable and therefore suits 21,2mm, 18,83mm, 16,5mm etc. Don’t have any track gauges, yet.
  19. Definitely makes sense, but you know, we ARE talking about pre-Celtic-Tiger IE…
  20. I’m a master of underachieving, so this will be fun! Rail already here, wheel-puller and back to back gauge in the post, still haven’t bought any wood for boards.
  21. Little parcel received from @Rob R today!!! Outstanding!!!
  22. Were the IR and IE logos vinyl or painted?
  23. A friend just sent this video to me. Relatively low quality but fine for mobile viewing. Enjoy! DAC1FD8A-EB88-4D23-8F9E-BBC06E2552C3.mp4
  24. Two four-packs of IRM’s smashing Mk2B/C coach packs for €220 per pack: https://www.ebay.es/itm/205328216273
