  1. From the horses mouth: As you know I will have dedicated chips for my forthcoming Class 121 loco. Details as follows. Note that catalogue numbers for the sound chips are different to those already advised. MM0006 Class 121 DCC SRP €36.95 MM0567 Class 121 DCC sound chip SRP €125.00 EMD 8-567CR NT MM0645 Class 121 DCC sound chip SRP €125.00 EMD 8-645E NT The software for these chips is designed, in conjunction with the PCB, specifically for the Class 121 loco. This software will not be available on any website. It has not been tested on my Class 141/181 locos and there is no claim on my part that it will operate in the required manner. Users do so at their own risk. A full list of functions will be available on my website in due course. The usual CVs will be variable as necessary. WARNING People who use 3rd party chips do so at their risk. There is no warranty on any damage that may arise. There are 2 removable parts on the top of the loco. The smaller one allows for access to 6 switches to operate the lights as appropriate in DC mode. For DCC they should all be in the on position. The larger aperture allows for the fitting of DCC chips. As a result of the foregoing, there is absolutely no need to open up the loco. Doing so risks damage, which may be expensive to repair. Note that the IP of these chips is the sole property of Murphy Models. The information supplied can be used by authorised dealers in the normal course of trade. All chips will be available first half of June. Modellers who heard early sound samples were very impressed. Stay safe.
  2. Not necessarily, having the right box and inner can add 20 - 30% to the price of a collectable item
  3. Sent to me this afternoon by a very shy modeller He's a much better modeller than photographer MTK NIR Railbus, no box number unfortunately
  4. Free P&P, so works out at around €460

  6. Seemed to have missed these MTK Kits A Class: C Class: 201: Couple of points, The A Class is IRL Number 4 and the C is IRL Number 6, which would suggest there are a few more in between These 2 kits were manufactured in their Cardiff premises whereas the 201 unnumbered kit was manufactured in their Burnham premises Any more out there?
  7. Well, thats them sorted
  8. Did you know Yul Brynner was a Liverpool fan, but he smelt awful? I did, Yul never wore Cologne! Sorry people cabin fever is kicking in
  9. They will be close to €200 I reckon George, Dollar v Euro when payment is due will be the deciding factor. Dollar is strong at the moment and shipping will be expensive too.

  16. Frightening news, Anthony was a relatively young man, larger than life, terrible news to wake up to this morning. He was a regular attendee at the Bray Wheelers event and will be sadly missed by all the customers and stall holders alike. He had a great interest in the older Lima/Hornby models Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhilis.
  17. Some Leinster Models coaches bodies, can be bought for €10 a pop!
  18. Dont quote me on this but if I remember correctly when MM had the Moguls produced by Bachmann and the accompanying LMS coaches, Bachmann US later produced the "Irish Railway Set" using the models MM had commissioned albeit with different running numbers. He learned a tough lesson there and has since held the IP for all further models.
  19. Troops If it sounds to good to be true it usually is Some investigations done by PM and also some of the other owners of some of the Continental items being sold by this retailer showed that they were supplied to our friend in Spain by the original firm that PM and said other owners were using in China to manufacture their wares So PM paid for and got X amount of stock but the manufacturer made more of the items and held them back to sell them at a later date. So in essence these coaches and locos are the property of PM To the best of my knowledge there may be some law suits as a result of this and you may have to give your "cheap" coaches back to PM Dont mess with Murphy!!!
  20. €159 last time I looked?
  21. Some info for any of our US members Stocks most of the MM range and should have the 121's when they arrive San Antonio, Texas http://models11.com/
  22. Could not find anywhere suitable to post this madness so here we go:
  23. Just a heads up people !!! The Garda Traffic Corps found over 200 dead crows on the M7 near Limerick recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorbikes, while only 2% were killed by cars. The investigators then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorbike kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviourist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "Bike" Sorry, I blame the virus...
