  3. Found this tape in the bottom of a box last night Any info people, haven't had a tape player since I sold my GOLF GTI ! It says Hornby Railway Instructions, and has a 1989 date

  5. It was the Bachmann box that threw me, probably used the running gear from the 158 and then used the box for storage Good spot John.

  7. Playcraft was owned by Mettoy, they were the Corgi Car makers. So around 1960 they produced cheap sets which were sold through Woolworths and sold for around £1 ! Made in HO scale and the sets were called after famous train stations, and disappeared around 1970.

  17. 1977 was a pivotal year Noel, Lima changed their HO scale to OO Hornby had not manufactured any "Irish" models before the OO range was launched Lexie Keady hooked up with Lima in 1977 when the Wrenn Brothers ceased their agency for Lima N Gauge and I reckon it was then that the HO Irish stuff was commissioned, just before they turned to OO gauge manufacturing So 77 would be the earliest for your polaroid, Hornby saw the Lima Irish bits some time later and launched their Hymek sets which lasted from mid 78 till 81 if I remember correctly
