  1. Broadstone is a funny place with engines like 409 4-6-0 and the midlands royal saloon Broadstone was steam only with lots of cattle wagons but would not have 121s even in that livery.
  2. Looks like somewhere on the GSWR main line. Could be Mallow?
  3. Hi Leslie I have just relised that Harry Byrnes model of 184 has no flying snail and had a modified chassis. All though I don't model GNRI(MGWR is what I model) there engines and stock are lovely so of I ever get any of my idea going Cavan rail station in OO would be nice.Love the layout and the VA class pure GNRI

  5. I went to Tralee about a 4 years ago at about 11 o clock at night to look around the station. The went to killarney rail station trying to get a train to Tralee but found out you can not due to the design of the station.
  6. Looks like Drogheda. If it was Kilkenny a beet engine would have been used or even Meadh as it spent its last days on the branch.

  13. Hello all The reason I wanted to ask this question is because I find now that people find the hobby weird. They only think of Thomas the tank or Flying scotsman which makes the hobby look bad in a way.I also find that modeling modern railways is a little boring for a young child. As one of the younger members of this forum my interest in model railways is the MGWR 1920s to the 1950s .The reason being is books like rail to Achill and Ernie Shepards Midland great western railway were the two books that were available to me as my grandad had a interest in local history and of the railways. Hope you all like.
  14. I have decided not to use the platform for making Inishlyre bigger. The reason being was because I did not like it so instead a bridge is being built from 1mm plaster card and the top part being foam bord cut up. To interest the eye it is at a angle.Hope you all like.
  15. I think Fry had a model shop or something but once heard that someone made MGWR F class ready to run engine in the 1930s. There is a house near me that had Basset Louke engines runing in his back garden in the 30s and bits of coaches lasted until the 70s may be still of his stuff still there.
  16. is that the BCDR royal saloon in the 3rd pic?
  17. Looking good. Do they still sell them and in what gauge?
  18. Ye Ernie Shepards book has loco drawings of a L class whitch I may build. Is there drawings for a C or A class.

  22. I will probally get the 2-2-2 as a g2 would need mods where do you get track for o gauge
  23. After a long day the mock up is finished. It does not look the best on the sides as I was using parts from a card kit hope you all like
