  1. Interesting Dave, looks like the freight livery didn't last that long. Any word from your spies about the stored orange 201s? That were all out of the storage sidings when I went past Inchicore last week.
  2. Tried and failed to get tickets for this. They did it in Dusseldorf recently too.
  3. Nice video. When it comes to street view, would anyone be mad enough to like this? http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=377352&nseq=5
  4. Few different threads by the same guy (annoying) on the Diesel Detailer http://dieseldetailer.proboards.com/thread/11151 Pics http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag89/elDuderino97/P1010189.jpg http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag89/elDuderino97/P10101901.jpg http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag89/elDuderino97/P1010191.jpg
  5. I'll strap a banger to your Hiddenagenda sulzer next time I'm in Laois so Still haven't seen it, but there is a guy on another forum I frequent who is building the locos as per the film.
  6. Check out the SD45, SD45-2 or SD45T-2. Like a SD40-2 only louder and more powerful!
  7. Good man yourself. I'm off to raid our istock photo account to see if a model posing with a Sulzer will help Anthony like it more!
  8. Fair enough GM071, can't wait to see how you correct the roof issue yourself, hopefully you'll share your methods with us so others can use similar methods. I understand where you are coming from, and as I said elsewhere I will use my wallet to support these products, but I think it's only right that we can call a spade a spade. I personally do not think I will buy one of these kits as it just doesn't look like a sulzer to me. Maybe finished projects from people on here will help me change my mind but at the moment I will keep my wallet in my pocket. This might sound harsh but he would have more customers if it better and these comments wouldn't be happening. As for your last comment, I totally agree. However, I think the greater demand for more accurate and authentic models has lead to the riches we enjoy now like the Murphy 141 etc. If we didn't demand higher standard we might be still running Lima 33s! The standard has been upped and we want better standards. This seems to hark back to the old days in my opinion. Anthony is a modeller whose skills I massively respect. I have seen his kit built locos 1st hand and they're the best fist of MIR kits I've seen (and they weren't exactly great quality kits to begin with) and seeing the struggle he is having just confirms that these kits are beyond my modelling ability to make a good model of the prototype (to the standard not to look embarrassed next to a Murphy's 141). I would put his words down to frustration when working on them to be honest and I think we have moved on from that.
  9. Roco's 2013 catalogue has gone for an 'interesting' cover http://issuu.com/fleischmann_roco/docs/roco-neuheitenkatalog-2013 Any chance Paddy Murphy can do the same? Mind you, the models (people, not trains) they're using on their site are not what you'd usually see advertising model trains... http://www.roco.cc/en/home/index.html
  10. One question; Would you pay 100 euro for it? Before you answer I suggest you look at Robert's take on Anthony's pictures before answering. Fixing a lopsided roof is a pig of a job. Others are reporting that correcting the window profile is very difficult as the resin gets very thin. Des is a stand up guy who provides a lot of great products to us. However, that should not absolve his products of constructive criticism. There is nothing wrong with wanting something to be right and to be of good quality.
  11. I bought some stuff off them before (ltd editions, locos I couldnt get here) and it was usually between a week and 7 working days. They're a major outfit and do stack loads of mailorder, especially from their renowned 2nd hand ebay store.
  12. I went down that route before, the postage was very painful... I found a small shop in O'Connell street about a year ago selling them. The guy behind the counter looked bemused when I bought the whole lot he had for me, my g/f and my brother. He never got them back in and went out of business soon after. I have a pass for a cash and carry too but they never have them.
  13. Also. I know not sweets but HB fat frog icepops are sadly missed in chez Burke.
  14. Frys orange cream. Addicted to them but rarely seen these days.
  15. Can't beat -2s Eamonn, best locos ever built.
  16. Stick the videos on YouTube and paste the links here would be your best bet.
  17. Great video adapted from a CIE bus training film from 1965. Not much railway interest (apart from Pearse st. bridge) but great for vehicles of the period and to see Dublin streets. Might make a few of you feel old though!
  18. Best of luck with the move!
  19. Athearn Genesis SD70M-2 rob. She's sweet!
  20. I wonder could they be etched out with a sharp blade to give them more depth?
  21. Some results mind you, she's starting to look like a Sulzer. Are you going to do anything about those side grills? I think they let it down.
  22. One or two I'd understand, but 11 or 12 at once?
  23. Weirdly I was passing Inchicore yesterday and there were 5 orange 201s by the RPSI stock near the diesel shed and all had been removed from the storage sidings where they had been for the last few years. Changes afoot?
  24. Most disappointing. I did fancy one of these at one point but judging by those pics I think I'll leave it. I did previously have reservations about the cab shape but that looks to be the least of its worries!
