  1. Looks like it was a great show. We're sorry we missed it, but family commitments for all of us dictated that IRM could not take up your very kind invitation. We'll try our best to be there next year! Well done!
  2. Which shops, manufacturer were you trying to add it to, Paul?
  3. Hi Paul, Who are you trying to contact?
  4. Happy Easter, everyone! A few people said to us previously that this image of the ballast bodies being readied for assembly looked like chocolate, While we think the do look pretty delish, we hope that you are having some nice chocolate eggs while you're running your trains today! The wagons are en route to us via air and will touch down this coming week. Here's all the information you need about receiving yours, as well as news on other projects and a very special offer! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/index.php/2017/04/12/ballast-hoppers-en-route/
  5. Wishing you all the best Seamus!
  6. haha he was removed to make room for our ballasts!
  7. It's one 10% discount per rake per customer Railer. Sorry!
  8. Latest update on the Ballast wagon distribution as well as forthcoming projects is now available on the Irish Railway Models website https://irishrailwaymodels.com/index.php/2017/04/12/ballast-hoppers-en-route/
  9. Hi Richrua, that's grand. If you could confirm as soon as you know yourself so we can make sure we get your order to you it would be great!
  10. Thanks Railer. We felt after our transition to standing on our own two feet that we had a lot of lost time to make up for. We wanted to reward customers patience as much as possible so decided to fly them in and get them to you all ASAP!
  11. THEY ARE LEAVING ON A JET PLANE! The moment is here, everybody! Our first project, the CIE ballast wagon, is currently in transit from the factory in China to these shores. We have decided to fly them to Ireland to speed up delivery! We expect to have them next week after customs is cleared. We will then personally inspect every pack to make sure that they are up to scratch. As you may know, we are a small team doing this in our spare time. We also have the North Down Model Railway Society Bangor show next weekend too. It will take us several days to go through everything and ship them out to everyone. Rest assured you will get them as soon as we can get them checked, packed and in the post!
  12. Hi Noel, Unfortunately we cannot make the Wexford show.
  13. Still on course for the summer Des. We managed to secure some great ex works pictures of the Bubbles to finalise decoration which was a big help.
  14. Pity I didn't know you back then Kieran, I could've sold you mine. It was a decent effort with a couple of sticky points. I do have a great love for the prototype and I keep trying to persuade the other IRM all-stars that it should be the first IRM loco project. Don't think they share the same enthusiasm though!
  15. All in good time Railer, all in good time! We'll have news on other projects after we sort the ballasts out and get them landed and distributed.
  16. Hi Ray, The bubbles will be with us this summer!
  17. Cheers JB!
  18. Is that a hint at a future project, Jim?
  19. Thanks men, we are beside ourselves with excitement. It's taken a lot of work, long hours and a huge amount of effort to get these across the line but the finishing line is only a few feet away. Our aim was to get the highest quality fit and finish product that's as accurate for a reasonable price to give you all the best bang for your buck and I think we are achieving that.
  20. Cheers Rich! It's so hard to believe that we've been on the go for five years already. Time flies by. I'll never forget the early days and the struggles and carry on which happened in the previous incarnation. We've come a long way since we got together and got this show on the road. We haven't always made the right decision (especially in the early days) and have made mistakes but overall I like to think that the forum has been pretty successful and a better place to be than the previous incarnation. Certainly, I cannot think of another forum which has given birth to a a model making company making stock! In a few weeks we'll have the first Irish RTR injected moulded accurate wagon in stock to celebrate our birthday. If you told us five years ago that we'd be doing that I would've laughed my ass off. But here we are. It's also just the beginning and in five years time things will have pushed forward even further. (that's enough trumpet blowing!) We have over 800 members and plenty of lurkers who do come up to me at shows now and say they read the site all the time but havent registered. We would love to see you register and participate, show your modelling projects, layouts, hints and tips and have the craic too. It's what it's all about at the end of the day. Though Irish Railway Models I have met plenty of members in the last year or so and when all is said and done the forum is nothing without you all. It's all about the content you guys share and chat about that makes it what it is and me and the mod team are eternally grateful to you guys for that.
  21. COMING TO A LAYOUT NEAR YOU VERY, VERY SOON!!!! Sometimes we all get that Sunday night fear; a great weekend comes to an end and another long week is fast approaching. Relaxation and fun gives way to work and responsibilities. Oh, if there was only something to look forward to to get us through the week! Well, fear not! This week is a mile post nearer to journey's end in the wait for the IRM Ballast Wagons. As you can see in this picture, the long wait is almost over. They're on their way and in a couple of weeks time they will be a part of your collection. Hopefully the excitement of getting your hands on them will get you through the week ahead! (And yes, Ballast loads are still included. We just wanted you to see that lovely detail inside!)
  22. I'm sure everybody here knows of course, but Irish Railway Models is wagons, not vehicles! As reported elsewhere, our highly anticipated ballast wagons will be available to buy and pre orders will be available for collection provided we receive plenty of prior notice and proof of purchase and photo ID is provided on the day. We're really looking forward to the show and seeing you there!
  23. I think it will be after April 9th Dave but if they do arrive beforehand we will touch base. Thanks for the very kind offer!
  24. Hi Noel, Yes, people who selected for 'Exhibtion/Show Pick-up' email us at info[at]irishrailwaymodels.com and request a postage quote. If you would like to change your delivery option from exhibition pick-up to post/courier, get in touch and we will organise for you to pay the additional cost through our online facility. As for your second query it's too early to confirm but it is what we'll be aiming to do. Please remember that we are doing this in our spare time, we will be checking each box for QC issues and signing them off for dispatch too so it will take a little while to work through the back log. We literally have hundreds of parcels and orders to organise! It will be done on a 'first order, first delivery' basis with the earliest customers getting their packs posted or dropped to them first. We will also be contacting those with outstanding payments in the coming days to complete their purchases.
  25. Hi Popeye, a print out of your order email will do!
