  3. The red coach (if not the whole train) was used in lifting the west cork line a few years later
  4. On an old episode of top gear I remember how Indian dinners were a subscription service and were delivered by train
  5. What about these. 2 of these quite large lamps. Spotted at me local shop
  6. CIE light green and dark green….can be hard to make up. Would be nice if somone just made a standerd pot of “CIE green paint” like hattons or IRM. if you want tips on CIE green put “CIE green paint Irish railway modeller” into google and I’m sure various threads with various awnsers will come up. With passage green it’s a bit harder. A CBPR coach on original livery was found in 1969 and is recorded in colour on the IRRS archive. Problem is by that stage the liver and crest were WELL faded. In any case any sort of “dark green” will do as who is going to correct you!
  7. I think, certainly with the age of farmers here and certain loyalties those have with certain brands may lead this one to blow over some 50 percent of the tractors sold here are between 3 brands
  8. Funny enough it looks more grey rather then black in that picture. But If it’s 464 it’s probobly black alright from 1961 till withdrawal in 1963
  9. I can’t really tell from the photo….what number is this bandon tank.

  13. I think it’s 5’3…..
  14. I think the branch line society was on that fernicular around the time tailte tours was in Kerry. the only railway left in west cork….using GNRI chairs
  15. Have your ridden on the Clonakilty golf club fernicular railway???
  16. can you do the entire IOM network in a day? I haven’t a notion and I would have asked Sean when I had the chance!
  17. I was selling for €30….almost double what Leslie is charging for his new rtr eange will tell u how good value they are
  18. The problem with these areas mentioned. Bandon, skibbereen, Clonakilty, bantry, dunmanway. It’s that it’s very hard to make a line including every one of them without branchlines. Also. It seems this rail review would have easily knocked youghal out but because youghal and west cork have greenway projects currently in development. It’s hard to say weather that played a factor. greenways are the future for the west cork until at least 2050/60 by which stage I will be nearing retirement!

  20. It might be hattons overestimating how many they were actually gonna get from MM…I have heard they have done that before it’s either that or they were straight up canceled? I could have sworn there were pre production samples at raheeny last October does anyone have a screenshot of the email?
  21. I would pay money to see it!!!
  22. I’ve seen it many times in corks flea markets…at 50 quid I’ve always stayed well away
  23. Do you have Colms creedons book on the topic? They can be quite cheaply picked up and despite the aged print quality are well worth it I know the passage west maritime museum did an exhibition on the subject recently and might be able to point you in the correct direction for drawings ect.
  24. How was the sound aquired in the end? From the Australian locomotive or made from scratch?
