  1. It’s going to be a long 40 minutes…
  2. It was a treat for me too because I didn’t know those macroom colour slides existed until an hour before kick off! not to mention after the zoom I actually got one of those dog tickets with the name of the dog on the back
  3. Asking price was £300 (about €15k today) . Unfortunatly the fella leading the charge to buy it had fallen out with CIE and particularly andrews so the 200 as a deposit wasn’t accpeted and the rest is history.
  4. Something for my Bandon tank to haul would be my hope. We’re too near to the last announcement for something “powered” like a C class, AEC or 80 class
  5. It’s looking superb Owen. I can’t make it to Wexford due to lack of transport but I’m sure the bandon (which ran on D&SE metals) will be well received! how well will the terrier chassis fit is the next question
  6. It went well into the night….Chris could talk for Ireland purely based on west cork knowledge. I didn’t think the 20 slides I had taken photos directly from the projector would be enough…between myself, Tom Ryan and Chris. We had a decent history of the west cork covered!!! also on good news is I finnally have a back up Chris Larkin presentation that isint on a 1950s slide projectors! I speak with bias but I had great fun anyway
  7. That’s what you get for drinking guiness in the old oak…..or cork in general!
  8. Bandon tank liveries 4 main liveries . CBSCR green, GSR grey, CIE lines green and CIE black. routes The CBSCR, kent station (shunting, pilot and even banking duties), cork to cobh, Dublin commuter services, possibly a station pilot in Dublin at one stage (?) but of course it could in theory work on any branch line or be a station pilot/shunter era percect for late steam era when the A and C class were in use along with possibly clashing buffers with B121s. Owens MGWR or hattons genesis 6 wheelers would make a good combo with these They lasted from 1906 to 1963 and weren’t cut up until 1966 with a very real possibility of one being preserved (they were 100 odd quid short) Funny enough. This was one of the reference photos I gave Owen…notice the pipe between the chimney and dome. This was added when in use as a stationary boiler at Inchicore. But Owen put it in one of the first drafts! (If you go through the previous images in this thread you will see it)So we are already halfway there!
  9. Sneak peek! It may have had an error while printing. But rivet counters will be well chuffed with this finish photo: Owen O Niell
  10. I would say it’s probobly best to just eyeball it? It looks small so it shouldn’t make too much of a difference
  11. One of the classic west cork shots. I don’t think many books have omitted this image! Yes, although the GNR 207 deffinetly had many surviving bits and peices. I found it strange how much of the GSWR tank engine survived. Perhaps it was cut up in that siding in mallow and the GSRPS found bits of it….perhaps it was easier to nick stuff in mallow then it was in the scrap yard. But about 5 or 6 significant bits survive
  12. Yes. GNR 207 and GSWR 207. I was referring to the GSWR tank engine seen in ernies pick.
  13. Even more work done tonight, infact other then chassis work it’s more or less complete. Owen and Mark will be at Wexford to show off this model. The rivets have quite litterally been counted here it seems! I have made requests for a few alterations but otherwise. It’s a rather good looking CAD isint it
  14. An awful lot of 207 has survived into preservation. There are bits and pieces everywhere ranging from the numberplate to the dome!
  15. Some tasty looking photos from the CAD programme. A few things must be changed most particularly the cab for one. Owen has done a great job using an 0 gauge kit built bandon tank as his only reference but considering how many bandon tanks I have seen come and pass on my time. I think finnally this one will go to market soon enough
  16. A few more things shifting through the gears today with 3Dprinting3Dcork and platform 4
  17. Yes it would have been absolutely irecodnisable. But that’s better then “as it came” the only thing that would send JB to smelling salts incorporated is the roof….I think they were silver as standard! I’m in the look out for one of these vans all the time. If they were available as kit I might try those ones.
  18. Many a familiar face so far. Sub 2 hour fully electrified enterprise was hinted at….now THAT would be interesting next week is Dromod, Stradbally and presumably listowel I must say these nationwide programmes are decent quality.
  19. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of 423 in colour! In 1954 ballyphehane junction and much of the macroom line was still on the ground. There also would have been no deisals. It was sometime that year the AEC railcars were introduced
  20. The dart, Cavan and Leitrim, and lartigue are confirmed in the next few programmes.
  21. Something of note is that it seems the poor presenter had to travel all the way to Belfast in a 29k
  22. The macroom closed in 1953 as did the schull and skibbereen (on paper anyway) 1953 was the year CIE got there AEC railcars too? I think there was a few other closures in 1953. The T&D Possibly too
