  1. I’m no expert but that’s not a great record. even with my Mark 4 bias the DDs deffinetly have a better ride and I’ll miss them when there gone. But you can’t overlook a reliability record like that….and that was in 2022, there not getting any younger!
  2. I think these locos were not copies but pulled out of the reject bin. So these models could be decective hence he wants them out of circulation same when a bad batch of currency gets out of the mint
  3. This one always seemed like an open goal for a 3D print project or a kit.
  4. good to hear....ive heard fanta cans and buiscuit tins purley in a saterical fashion but never cattle cars.... a thread uncovering the falsities in irish railway wikipedia would be good!
  5. Oh yeah the point of my previous post was a “wouldn’t it be nice if” fever dream….one could say an April fools.
  6. Has anyone ever called them that? somone would ought to remove that from the wiki. I’m no good at Wikipedia as I once tried to edit the cork bandon and south coast Wikipedia to remove “Clonmacsherry” as a village among a few other things and got in trouble with the citation police.
  7. Lovely model, shame about how they run themselves into the ground…
  8. I’m sure a millionaire would be able to get 90 to run down from limerick-Waterford. But that’s about it. I’d probobly spend my millions on newbuilds or restoring 6111 or something
  9. A crude representation of Locomotive 461 features on “Farming simulator 2019”
  10. Oh…..oh yes Those photos were taken many years ago too ….
  11. Bogies being swaped for ITG spares and it’s due to be part of a meuseum
  12. Your able to see it. Just get the right permission first https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/9317-c202/
  13. our train was delayed at least half an hour too maybe 45 minutes
  14. Must have been Almost 12 months ago. At this stage I could find the dates
  15. It’s not a journey one would want to make in one day. I recomend staying in Cork (somhow) overnight. Maybe do the East Cork lines too. belfast-Connolly has first class (unless it breaks down as my Cork-Belfast leg did, great fun sitting the 2nd half of a 6 hour journey in a 29k!), but, thanks to the ongoing refurbishment of the mark 4s. The Heuston-Cork leg of your journey will either be in the old City Gold, Or the New 1st class and it’s impossible to tell which trains have the new and improved first class, versus the old and a bit tired city gold. just yesterday I was in Kent following the st Patrick’s day special trains on the east Cork lines and counted of the 3 mark 4 sets I saw, 2 of them still had city gold
  16. Small job done yesterday when the sun was out. The sides and back came white, not to happy with this arangment, I found a decent match rattle can and changed it around the next job will be finding a way of strengthening it and weighing it down before I can attach the lamp iron bracket
  17. something much bigger scale for the workbench On many of the Late 1960s Railtours organised by the Munster area, a basic headboard was used. not sure what became of this one, if any one has any idea please feel free to comment. but I have decided to make a new one for the fun of it. i have all the necessary peices, though any advice would be nice. i just need to put them together. and while it has absolutly no reason to exist. maybe one day it might see action (well, maximum 25MPH!) it is nice that, even if never used there can be a headboard for photo opertunites and so forth.
  18. I pre ordered a pack of 3 which I intend to mix in with GSWR flats, and/or other types of flats weather they be converted or printed
  19. I find revolut superb at shoes for accepting payment. Of course you do have to give your number to the other person. But it’s the next best thing when somone does not have cash and PayPal takes too long
  20. I noticed on the project status page there was these photos on the bullied section. Although I thought I had just missed the announcement!
  21. As you can see, there has been some repairs and modifications to it already. It was used in a model show for many years displaying models. It’s clear that 2/4 sides were replaced with some sort of ply wood. The result is a lot of warped and desroyed wood. It might be of use as a frame using the base and the front (would need new glass)
  22. In Dublin, will get on top of it when I return to CBCSR territory!
  23. If anyone was any good at woodwork. I have a poster board from Albert quay which I intended to make into a model display as absolve. But all 4 sides were knackered, only the front and back were salvageable. The choice is to either cut up the 4 sides and turn it into a picture frame, or fix it up properly. Any advice would be nice
  24. 8209 was also on one of the enteprise
