  1. Must find out which Park Royal’s are preserved. 1944 in downpatrick 1419 & 1383 CURRENTLY in Inchicore (subject to change though methinks) 2 In Clonakilty (don’t know the numbers)
  2. A gran truismo track in tenerife would be great because there is a massive ring road going around the whole island, and the taxi drivers certainly drive like it’s ”need for speed” anyway!
  3. While many were looking at 3d prints of par royals and ICR’s (understandably) owens bandon, along with some of his other items were on display Including mark dunlea showing off owens Chetwynd viaduct kit
  4. All talk about the Lovley Park Royal’s we are getting but not much about the 22k 3d prints on display many chance IRM could bring to the cork model swap meet so I can have a look
  5. I think the last time there was a loco hauled weed train was sometime around the start of covid. Around the same time the last IE BR gen van was withdrawn. Still awaiting scrap I understand
  6. In truth, I have known about these for well over 6 months at this stage. And for every single announcement I have been guessing it would be these to come out shamelessly!!! glad that my torture of waiting for the official announcement is finnally here! The green in the previews looks pretty spot on to. You can release the lines green A class you have been holding on to in the warehouse now
  7. I am forever tempted to buy the special edition Mag when I realised that Joe was the fella who wrote “last mag” on the back I can’t justify another 3 in any world. I’d have to buy an orange A class for that then
  8. Something for N gauge fans too. Possibly an entire train made up by Owen! in the backround you can spot a chassis Owen has been working on too. But to see more ye will have to go to Wexford
  9. Looking forward to seeing those other CIE coaches in the flesh too!
  10. the only reason it might not be that date is the lack enthusiasts surrounding the tank engine! Otherwise Bandon tanks didn’t go down the clonakilty branch too often otherwise it’s 99 percent 17th of March ‘61 if you look at my profile picture, it’s the same view from a different angle
  11. Christ that was quick. Seems like yesterday those 141s were announced
  12. How am I too young to remember these…. They look neat
  13. Maybe crossely engine decoders….sperry wagon….re release cements….maybe those footbridge things? I’m not smart enough to figure it out
  14. It’s going to be a long 40 minutes…
  15. It was a treat for me too because I didn’t know those macroom colour slides existed until an hour before kick off! not to mention after the zoom I actually got one of those dog tickets with the name of the dog on the back
  16. Asking price was £300 (about €15k today) . Unfortunatly the fella leading the charge to buy it had fallen out with CIE and particularly andrews so the 200 as a deposit wasn’t accpeted and the rest is history.
  17. Something for my Bandon tank to haul would be my hope. We’re too near to the last announcement for something “powered” like a C class, AEC or 80 class
  18. It’s looking superb Owen. I can’t make it to Wexford due to lack of transport but I’m sure the bandon (which ran on D&SE metals) will be well received! how well will the terrier chassis fit is the next question
  19. It went well into the night….Chris could talk for Ireland purely based on west cork knowledge. I didn’t think the 20 slides I had taken photos directly from the projector would be enough…between myself, Tom Ryan and Chris. We had a decent history of the west cork covered!!! also on good news is I finnally have a back up Chris Larkin presentation that isint on a 1950s slide projectors! I speak with bias but I had great fun anyway
  20. That’s what you get for drinking guiness in the old oak…..or cork in general!
  21. Bandon tank liveries 4 main liveries . CBSCR green, GSR grey, CIE lines green and CIE black. routes The CBSCR, kent station (shunting, pilot and even banking duties), cork to cobh, Dublin commuter services, possibly a station pilot in Dublin at one stage (?) but of course it could in theory work on any branch line or be a station pilot/shunter era percect for late steam era when the A and C class were in use along with possibly clashing buffers with B121s. Owens MGWR or hattons genesis 6 wheelers would make a good combo with these They lasted from 1906 to 1963 and weren’t cut up until 1966 with a very real possibility of one being preserved (they were 100 odd quid short) Funny enough. This was one of the reference photos I gave Owen…notice the pipe between the chimney and dome. This was added when in use as a stationary boiler at Inchicore. But Owen put it in one of the first drafts! (If you go through the previous images in this thread you will see it)So we are already halfway there!
  22. Sneak peek! It may have had an error while printing. But rivet counters will be well chuffed with this finish photo: Owen O Niell
  23. I would say it’s probobly best to just eyeball it? It looks small so it shouldn’t make too much of a difference
  24. One of the classic west cork shots. I don’t think many books have omitted this image! Yes, although the GNR 207 deffinetly had many surviving bits and peices. I found it strange how much of the GSWR tank engine survived. Perhaps it was cut up in that siding in mallow and the GSRPS found bits of it….perhaps it was easier to nick stuff in mallow then it was in the scrap yard. But about 5 or 6 significant bits survive
