  1. First time I have seen a colour photo of a steam engine passing over the viaduct! superb stuff as usual!
  2. Wha became of the 464/90 models now?
  3. Everyone goes black because in the photos they all LOOK black JHB! And sher in most photos of bandon tanks seem to have been taken on the 17th of March ‘61 the black livery was one of the more unique liveries you could get in CIE days. The other being green which most of us modelers are much to threatened by. Sher everything wore grey. That’s why everyone makes their bandons black Of course you could always give it CBSCR livery. The Bandon tanks got a slightly lighter shade of green to the other bandon liveries locomotives. Some bandon locos got yellow lining too. I don’t think any got a CBSC crest on the side. Few locos got such a thing. below is a project I’m working on. A picture of a screen is never going to be great but it’s an attempt of capturing the CBSCR livery that could in theory be put on a bandon
  4. They said if there was ever an enthusiasts day or special day they would run the Jeremy Clements models.I don’t know if the pond could be used for an RC gala. But certainly plenty of room for those RC boats that they do have installed (which the kids love) I’m not an expert in the RC boats. but otherwise yes some have just pocketed the locos in handbags or otherwise and walked out! Actually an enthusiasts day wouldn’t be the worst idea. @Nilesput that in the long term plans
  5. Generally for 0 gauge. Something smaller is more idea and affordable? of course it could be an 0 gauge N/K class
  6. The vast collection of narrow gauge locos built by Jeremy Clements for the model village. Built for running but likely they won’t run very often due to a thievery issue ignore the tired Langer holding it (he is only for a sense of scale) this is a G scale Bandon Tank in the flesh recently deleivered by Chris tebutt mine of the two Park Royal’s there. As the mini diggers, RC boats and other new attractions have been extremely popular. This has opened up funds for all these more prototypical steps forward and It has allowed them to repaint there two coaches. One is being used for private lease (I should have my birthday party in there!!!!) while the other is having interior renovations for coffee seating I'm sure. Remember the size of that bandon tank. Now look at the size of that viaduct it’s placed on. Recently built from scratch in the UK (I think) as far as I know there isint a thread on this place as of yet so I wanted to start one .
  7. Not sure, I have to check sometime this week and take photos for “the internet” I think a few CIE and GNR
  8. GNR fans. There is a man down here with a vast amount of Dublin and GNR stuff that he wants got swapped. Preferably swaps for CBSCR, cork and macroom and schull and skibbereen. Will sell if it comes to it timetsbles, posters, tickets and more will post more details later

  10. When I’m working in my tourism job. I always recommend the Cork commuter network to tourists citing Jameson brewery experience, titanic centre, cobh heritage centre and fota wildlife park (it’s so big now it should be called a zoo) .
  11. What I’ve uncovered in my time looking at the west cork AEC railcar sets is that there was always something in a different livery. In one of those “green Irish railway dvds” i don’t know the name. An AEC railcar comes through drimoleague but instead it’s the AEC railcar in dark green and the intermediate Park Royal in light green infairness in those days @Niles there was a good bit of experimenting and one offs. West cork even had its own regional livery of unlined dark green. Or C class which supposedly got flying snail transfers applied to them. It’s not out of the question that something like that happened
  12. Hard to believe I saw the very same locomotive yesterday. Glad to say I saw it before I depart my teenage years soon!
  13. A propper 1:76 one was my my plan. It has been done before….however it would End up being 2.5 meters long!!!
  14. Depends on the size. That one above is In N gauge. Somewhere in the region of 100 quid I think
  15. This could have been a scene in preservation has things gone differently
  16. Was watching the telivision not paying attention when I heard an American steam whistle. I looked up and saw the recent specsavers add had a murphy models 141!
  17. offical release is coming soon. And it’s not looking too bad…
  18. Well the bandons were simular enough to the BCDR tanks perhaps a bandon in BCDR livery would look right
  19. Hear that @BosKonay that’s 2 bandon tanks sold!!! no I don’t think we can expect a RTR bandon, unless 00 works do one…in the next 20-30 years. Luckily should have the time to do the crime if everything goes well As for the model village.well now you can have a Hornby Ruston 88ds run around a ring with 2 Park Royal’s….a model village train!
  20. Livery isint too bad either. 1 green stripe and detail from being accurate…maybe a few shades lighter here and darker there. I might take the bus down there during the week. I hear from one of there curators they have gotten some locomotive and coaching stock upgrades since
  21. Somhow not cut up herself, surviving to this day! id love to take on 227 and make it a mesuseum but previous experience shows that, like the model village or cultra. Static exhibits need some form of security
  22. It’s already far to expensive to ship them domestically!
  23. They won’t make the year out, DJD. space is needed in Inchicore. So some things have to go. These 141s have a lot of interchangeable parts with 071s and so have been used as a spares dump. Now however those spares are being taken off by IE and the RPSI 171 is in the back of Connolly shed 144 was scraped 162, 147 and 177 I don’t know the fates of, but I think one or two are already scraped
