  1. The Park Royals were a stable diet on the Rosslare line for many years.A very comfy coach too from what I remember as the Commonwealth bogies were well suited to secondary lines.
  2. I will check when out in the shed again Rich. I did compare them and the rtr and prestwin are same Dimensions, but the prestwin seems to be more correct for a Irish angle.
  3. Some work that I did in the last few weeks. I had a go at weed spray tanks, while using bits that I have lying around, mostly from a large amount of prestwin chassis leftover parts. The tank itself looks fine but I think is a bit too small in scale, and the walkway on top is a bit wonky. The Bedford SS schoolbus is on the workbench at the moment. I am waiting for some parts for my ballast wagons and have new brass hand wheels plus bearing inserts for the prestwin axels.
  4. Here are a few photos of the IFM kits I did myself. From what I remember the cover side cement is 18 euro while the metal side is 22 euro without chassis. These were built and painted by me,but can by ordered RTR.
  5. I will get a link when I get to the laptop later.
  6. I bought 6 cement wagon kits from him last year and found them to be top notch.I was given the option of a dapol chassis as well to buy,or I could have used my own prestwin chassis.I have more cement wagons on order and found IFM very good to deal with, and always got a email reply when needed. My work bench shows the wagons in their finished state.I used the Dapol rtr chassis for them and find the nem sockets very handy for putting in my kadees
  7. I saw some rare photos from a steam railtour in March 63 in Borris station and rarely seen Ballywilliam Station.Just love going through these photos.
  8. The Park Royal might be available as a kit as well.I will get some in the future.
  9. Stunning collection of photos-http://www.flickr.com/photos/110691393@N07/sets/72157638438035474/
  10. Simply fab layout.Did you try two extra tires on the A class or are you happy with extra weight.
  11. God that is a nice job, well done.
  12. There you are, spooky. Did you have a listen to Klaus-Shadowlands CD.I bet it made your toes open and shut with delight;)
  13. Have this on the I pod and love it. Turn out the light and have a listen to the Master of dark Ambient- Klaus Schulze- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsAamHuyj2w
  14. There is a difference all right, but bass reflex would be the Real deal, far more bang for your buck.I have seen a bass reflex in the Murphy 071,but this takes a fair bit of work and the speaker will protrude into the cab.My a39 has a BR speaker and it really suits the a class engine sound and very pound without distortion.
  15. I have a bass enhanced speaker in my 201.Its easy enough, when you remove the old speaker you will need to look for + and - on the PCB to solder in wires for new speaker.there is not as much room in a 201 body for a larger speaker than you think. The main PCB takes up a lot of space and only for that a bass reflex could have been used.If you go back to my work bench to page one,I think I have some photos there of the speaker in the 201 body.
  16. Very nice,and nice layout.
  17. You will be a busy bee-look forward to these.
  18. Great stuff Tom,I always loved the MIR 201 that you brought up to me for a gawk, super runner.
  19. I got rid of all my Lima 201s,mainly as I wanted to sound chip one and the Murphy new 201,and so handy to stick a bass reflex speaker in. I did have a look at Toms(River Suir) MIR 201 with a Class 66 chasssis and she was a super runner and very smooth.I dont know if anyone stuck a 66 chassis under a Lima 201.
  20. Great photos,thanks for posting.
  21. God the Lima 201s drove me soft with poor running, but they could run ok with wheel cleaning and plenty of running in.I was thinking of the Model Torque remotoring option before the new Murphy 201 came out.
  22. I have just had a look back at Richies workbench and all I can say is jaw dropping work, especialy Ballyvoyle viaduct, which I seemed to have missed for ages.Keep up the good work Richie.
  23. Nice job,stunning layout.
  24. More than likely-nothing,as those 201s are withdrawn and are used for spare parts for the rest of the 201 fleet.Class leader 201 herself is in this lot.
  25. I can't wait to get my kit.Best wishes to you and family as well Tommy, and you are welcome for a chat anytime.
