Another new and welcome arrival at the MPD is Class 40-40 012 Aureol. it is seen here in the company of a class 37,50 and two back to back class 43s

Friday evening sees 071 class locomotives,071,072,076,077,078,080,and 083 being prepared for weekend infrastructure and freight liner work at the MPD on Tara junction, 2600 railcar 2607+2608 is also in attendance receiving some interior and engine / generator work taking place. — at Tara Junction Station

David, I would certainly agree with you there, I remember seeing a 4mm radio controlled loading shovel at an industrial/aggregates themed modern image layout at the Warley exhibition two years ago,it worked well loading the fine sand into a rail wagon-let’s hope that a reach stacker could do something similar with containers in the future.

Early morning sees locomotives 126+132 arrive at Lakeview freight yard with a laden bogie BELL liner from Bellview port. The reach stacker is seen unloading the 30’ BELL bulk container.

A small update to progress at Maam Cross station, A number of volunteers completed various important tasks around the station including strimming of grass and the resurfacing of the platform, A new station sign was installed on the completed platform Here we have a black & white image of the train from Galway which has just arrived at the platform-taken in July 2021 not 1935- 417 replies

Always a joy to see this layout develop,the scissors crossover really adds flexibility to the operation of the MPD. Well done Raymond.

Thanks Jason, I was never fond of the black and silver livery-it looked really rough on the locomotives prior to them receiving the much needed bodywork overhaul. The bridge gang have been busy repainting and inspecting the plate girders on all bridges on Tara junction over the last few weeks-well spotted
