Excellent repaint as usual Anthony.....I think you should let irish rail see those photos as with the forthcoming increase in freight traffic a few grey 201s would certainly add variety to the current scene. And as IE have a few spare intercity 201s around now-it would be an ideal opertunity to repaint five or six to promote the booming freight business. I might even get you to repaint one for me in the near future....well done.

Friday evenings operations on Tara junction saw 082 haul the Sperry train around the layout,083 is still allocated to the IWT liner and 7078 is working the bogie bulk cement train. 082 hauls the Sperry train out of the Perway sidings while 083 is held at the stop signal with the IWT liner. Later on 083 overtakes 082. A general view of the west end of the layout. A scene like this may happen sooner rather than later on the real railway....but for now it's a reality on Tara Jctn, 7078 hauls the 22:00 Limerick-Cork bogie bulk cement train through Tara Jctn. 7078 overtakes 083 on the IWT liner.

Evening lads, Having been up close to the real 083 during the week and receiving some excellent photos from hgricer-thanks hg..it was time to add some detail to the grey bogies on my model 083, Bogie springs were picked out in red, with the brake cylinders picked out in silver-(the released position) The various brake blocks were picked out in silver....a few photos of 083-still working the IWT liner on Tara junction.

I'd be delighted to have you visit Seamus-PM me to arrange, you can also bring Eamonn and jhb too, I'll let you pick and drive whatever train you want...

No Eamonn' date='Barry has been promoted to the shed foreman a role.... I thought my eyes were deceiving me this evening when I spotted the real 083 hauling the Northwall-Ballina IWT liner-sporting new grey bogies....was it true??? Well yes it's true-083 has refurbished bogies and they are indeed painted slate grey....another variation..... On arrival at Tara junction tonight I also noticed sound fitted 083 sporting grey bogies....so I had to share the photos with everyone..... After it's release from the MPD 083 passes Tara Jctn station on a light engine test run. 083 was later spotted hauling the IWT liner with 7077 passing with the empty timber train, Both drivers acknowledge each other by switching on the cab lights.... 083 passes sister locos 087 and 7078, 087 and the ammonia would later follow the IWT liner while 7078 shunts the bogie bulkers under the cement silo for unloading, Its amazing to think that nearly 37 years seperate the various liveries shown here....- CIE right through to the current slate grey....

Many thanks gents... Another photo from some enjoyable operations this evening around the MPD Works pilot loco Sulzer 101 hauls two 071s (075 and 088) into the main shed for attention in order to get them back into traffic At the other side of the depot 0117078 hauled loco 210 out of the running shed to allow the fitters to start up the loco.... I've allocated 210 to a driver training run tomorrow while 7078 will be allocated to the bogie bulk cement train for a few days..

ttc0169 replied to Garfield's topic in What's happening on the network?
Had it happened exactly one hour earlier then it would have been a different story-he would have been one unlucky postman-as the 201 hauled IWT liner would have had a different effect on the outcome...... -
Well done-excellent build, looks great...

With thanks to the Wanderer for the inspirational photo-I was able to recreate the wagon transfer 011077 gets priority with the wagon transfer comprising of two Container pocket wagons and an ex works timber bogie wagon while in the distance 229 is held at the stop signal with the IWT liner. 011077 passes the recently rebuilt Tara Jctn station with the wagon transfer, 086 has charge of the FO Cravens set on platform 2. Another view of the wagon transfer on the bi directional four track lines.
