1. Theres definetly a few 42fts around, there was a few taken from Cork yard recently plus theres a load stored near Mallow. Does anyone know whether its wagons added to the existing rake or is it an extra service?
2. Still reckon theres no need for 206/207/208/209/227/228/231 & 233 to be all fitted with the new gear.
3. Hope they all get them, its an achievement that all 18 got to 40 years service. As for the grey livery i think it suits them, the removal of their handrails on the front of the cabs gives them a more modern look.
4. Still can work the rest thou any news on whats happening with 233?
5. She has to be going in soon for her refurb, orange/black door, grey patch and her black/silver livery. I wasn t certain on whether she had the new brake set up or not as shes had work done on her in the last three weeks
6. She has to be going in soon for her refurb, orange/black door, grey patch and her black/silver livery complete with blacked out logo I wasn t certain on whether she had the new brake set up or not as shes been in Inchicore since the last time i saw her 3 weeks ago
7. Good bit of goods running that she could do, dfds Ballina - Belview, iwt Dublin port to Ballina, timber waterford- Ballina/Westport, wagon transfers. It could also turn up on the Dublin to Cork & Dublin to Belfast passenger runs like the newly reliveried enterprise locos have done recently
8. 085/087/071/084 all have them . 075 in black and silver also has it.
9. Excellent job so far, the woolie looks the business. Try Des at ssm for the flying snail and number.
10. Finally gotten round to installing a chip into the c class, first timer at hardwiring a chip into a lima ringfield motor. Didn t take long and now shes free to roam around with the gm's . Theres also another batch of mk 3's heading to the paint shop with 072 doing the honours of bringing them to the bench
11. Nice bit of work Boskonay, its building up to be a right cracker of a layout
12. Quite a few of the refurbished ones have the new handbrake wheels pretty sure its a new braking system as well.
13. Check the wheel spacing, mine used to do that but adjusted the spacing and she ran grand till the other problem above started.
14. My one is in the cripple siding with motion gear problems......
15. Wouldn t it make more sense to put it with a rake of cravens or mk 2's? The rpsi have both and its could be an rpsi charter?
16. Pretty sure Waterford west controls as far as Wellingtonbridge on the South Wexford line along with Sallypark yard, the station environs and the limerick/Dublin line junction. They also control the level crossing at Belview.
17. Theres always room for more
18. And your point is? I was one of those type you refer too i ve multiples of all the IE livery 141/181 & a few of the ir livery ones did you ever hear of renumbering? For what i want in my layout i ll have them running in multiple with other baby gms and i ain t going to apologise for reaching into my wallet and taking a wad of my hard earned foldy notes to pay for them. I ve also done the same with subsequent murphy models releases such as the 071 & 201, when the 121's come out there ll be at least six new additions to my lot but knowing me there s bound to be one or two more sneaking in. Im not a collector, if i like them i ll buy them and normally do a little work on them to make them look like the way i remember them & when my house moving days are over they ll have a bigish layout to roam around on
19. No the murphy ones were the later chassis which are a lot easier to convert to dcc
20. Got one as well in one of the newsagents in Waterford for the same price. Some of the piccys are pretty good for us modellers although the readie bits are a little basic
21. Colm Creedon came to that conclusion, a few years after the closure and lifting of the line the oil company did look into getting the line relaid but the cost was too prohibitive.
22. Hornby freightliner wagon is a good basis for pw material wagons, timber bogies & 60ft container wagons just need to upgrade the bogies and add bufferbeams plus buffers. With careful cutting etc 47ft container wagons can be made too. Dapol Kqa's make good donors for pocket wagons although strictly speaking they would also need new bogies and be stretched in length. Dapol prestwin kit chassis have been used for a lot of 2 axle wagon types spoil, cement, ballast etc. Dapol tank kits for cie tankers.
23. No it's not, a little decal setting solution makes it quite easy to do.
24. Nothing wrong with releasing more 201's, need a few more to replace the auld lima ones . Wish people would relax a bit, we re getting the 121's pretty soon, the a class will eventually come out just give it time. Quite surprised that there wasnt a new 141/181 in the announcement as they re starting to get a little scarce ( 146 would be nice in her new Downpatrick livery )
25. No prob
