  1. Very inventive approach Mike.
  2. Busy, busy, busy- thanks for the picture Andy.
  3. MIR Kits are getting harder to come by and I was very lucky to pick up another Bogie Cement and my first Drop Side Wagon. After building brass coaches for the last while these were straight forward and a delight to do.
  4. You have a unique model there Nelson, well done. Enjoy the summer freedom.
  5. Dhu Varren is the NCC expert but to the best of my knowledge when the UTA took over, their carriage stock was painted Green, renumbered and carried either the UTA Coat of Arms or the Red hand Roundel. This included the North Atlantic Express 5 coaches including the Buffet Car. The drawing I posted of the Buffet Car is the UTA one in which they made some interior alterations.
  6. I know I've still up to update my original list and will get round to it shortly. I agree with you Stephen and ideally it would be great to have a list that everyone can add bits of information to. Can this be facilitated?
  7. Good luck with all that ballasting Raymond, you have a lot of track to cover. Everard Junction series is excellent and I followed many of his methods.
  8. New rake of coaches; they were known as the North Atlantic Express and introduced by the NCC. I have modelled four coaches, a Tri-Composite, a Buffet Car, a Third and a Third Brake in UTA livery. The coaches were built from Worsley Works brass sides and Comet coach parts. In this video they are been pulled by a Jeep with the usual ‘Brown Vans’ on the end.
  9. Yes Stephen, I just copied Derry Road's, it was his idea.
  10. Maintenance work continues on the Layout. I recycled some old wood floors from the house and put them down in the Shed. Also put up some more shelves but still there is not enough room for all the rolling stock, will have to stop building models soon.
  11. Great pictures and a story to go with them as well. Love that 2nd shot.
  12. Fran I'll wait the week and then combine all the additional comments into the initial list first please.
  13. Thanks for the pictures, the layout is coming on well.
  14. Many thanks JHB, G601-603 & F Class 501 -503. Thanks also to those others who have made comments. I'll wait for a week and re do the list making the amendments/additions. Please keep your comments coming.
  15. I found it very hard to get any exact details, I used this photograph and guessed the rest
  16. They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and to put up any list of data suggestion it is totally accurate would be foolish knowing the considerable number of experts on this Site. 17. Good luck with the move, keep up updated on your progress please.
  18. So that's what you have been up to, they look really good behind the DH Andy.
  19. For a first go it has turned out very well and you will be able to build on the experience for the 'next' one.
  20. Attended 1st Bangor Show last night. Just a few photographs of my favourites. North Eastern Steam –Durham The Jackson Family with the newly extended exhibition layout with Nelson at the controls. Moria Station by William Redpath T-Trak Module Layout by MikeO Ballynahinch Junction by John Little
  21. Looking forward to seeing that in operation, sound great.
  22. Not the rules but pictures of signals and signs on Irish Railways, see here http://www.railsigns.uk/overseas/ireland1/ireland1.html
  23. If you go to the first page of this layout thread Raymond you will see the start of my helix build, it was actually the first part of the layout build. I think it would be difficult to incorporate a helix into an existing layout mainly because of the space it takes up. I copied Everard Junction, see his video at If I was to do it again I would only have one track on the helix rather than 3, I did not need the extra tracks as I only bring one train up or down at a time. My original ideal was to have 2 helixes so you could run trains from the main tracks down to the storage section and up again at a different location but I did not have the space for the second helix. The Flying Scotsman re worked his helix and added to it to bring it up to another level, perhaps he would have better suggestions.
