  1. Good luck on your layout, it's good to base it on a real location so you can copy what's already there and it ends up more realistic.
  2. Well done Nelson, some excellent work with the potential to hit an even higher level. Watched your work on RM Web and for someone so young to achieve such a good standard bodes well for the future. Perhaps this thread may sit better in the Workbench section as I'm sure there is more to come.
  3. Thanks for your comments and advice George. However the Station is still a work in progress. Glenderg is currently building the main Station building and I will use it (as shown in the photo below) together with the clearance of my highest Loco as the level for the footbridge. A piece of useless trivial that I learned from my visit to Clonmel was that the steps of this footbridge used to faced the other way.
  4. Night scene at Clonmel - was it ever so busy?
  5. Thanks for the information, Richie those photographs are excellent, I've spent the last 40 mins lost in a wonderful world.
  6. Thanks JCH for the above Epistle, very informative. In your Special Vehicles paragraph you mention Cement bubbles but omit the curtain sided Cement Wagon. I know the body was painted blue but what colour was the underframe? I have looked for detailed photographs of these wagons without success.
  7. I never heard of Kibri bridges before, they really look well. With all these bridges and the massive viaduct you are planning it's going to be some layout. Looking forward to seeing its progress.

    Sligo Bus

Can any of you Bus Experts tell me the Make, Type, Service years, etc. of this bus and is there a model of it available?
  12. Great pictures, I have seen them before but lost the link. Now with basic photographic programmes like Picasa you can lighten the image to see even more detail.
  13. Who is the manufacturer of your Class 80 kit?
  14. Thanks Guy's
  15. What size (width) should the white line on the edge of a platform be, I've painted one and feel it's too wide. They can't agree either! Any answers please?
  16. Thanks for posting L. Erne, great piece of nostalgia.
  17. Progressing well, looking forward to the next instalment.
  18. Like your level crossing gates, great detail.
  19. I can say from experience superb models. More pictures please from your production line.
  20. Really atmospheric and evocative of that era. It's great to see modelling of that time so well portrayed.
  21. After running my new Tara's it's back to the grindstone again. I finished coating the platform wall with DAS clay and used the Wills Plastic Card to give a rough stone impression. The coping stones on the top of the wall was made of 2 mm plastic card scribed every 5 mm. It's strange how a photograph can show you what the naked eyes does not see - need to file a smoother curve on the coping stones passed the recess. I finished the Yard Walls, again with DAS clay, and am waiting for it to dry before smoothing it off into a rounded top. The grey recess area was the first go at using the Wills Sheet to make an impression and not very successful but for the later ones I coated the plastic sheet with PVA/water 50% mix and it allowed the sheet to come away more cleanly. You may have noticed I have erected a backboard behind the Station area so to block out the other parts of the layout. Next job will be painting the walls and platforms before screwing it to the baseboard and filling in any gaps. Waiting on the Station Building currently under construction by Glenderg
  22. A rabbit warren of tracks leading to the top level where the buildings promises future delights still to come.
  23. You have just reached that point in any build where it just seems to go on and on but as you say the major work is completed and your enthusiasm will return as the time you can run it on the tracks comes neared.
  24. Try here for back scenes: http://www.internationalmodels.net/acatalog/Main_Catalogue_Index_Backscenes_45.html
  25. Thanks for sharing the photographs, looked an interesting Show.
