My understanding was Flag stones, as they were known locally, were usually three by twos (3' x 2') cobblestones were confined to Cities/ large towns( Mourne granite square sets). Kerb stones were also Mourne granite.

I was going through the junk box yesterday and found a Lima DMU with this piece of electronics stuck to the underneath of the roof. The DMU is only wired for DC and I'm not sure what this bit of gear does or is supposed to do, the motor is not running. Anyone know?

Not articulated David as previously attempts made the model unstable. The quality and detail of your model is superb.

Mike I did not build it, a Guy in England did and 'Frank the Piper' showed a picture of one he did for him a few months back. It is built out of card and this is how I got it a week ago. Did a bit of extra work to it. Then painted it and added the interior. I wanted the front bogie to have a coupling rod (as on the real thing) and Brian Osborn of Branchlines suggested and supplied a Tenshodo motor with etched coupling rods. Finally fitted a decoder underneath the body.

Latest addition to the fleet, completed in CIE livery No 2509.

John I know from your previous answers you do hold a tremendous a wealth of knowledge. Did you ever come across the reason why the GNRI used the continental style corridor connections making all the BUT Trailers unusable with other stock?
