  1. Yes , the scenery really needs to be completed here. Every time I see these pics I am seeing a post-apocalyptic landscape, especially the black and white ones. Freaks me out a bit tbh, but then I am easily freaked out. Super layout though
  2. No offence meant.
  3. Yes, apart from all that grief, everything is going swimmingly
  4. That's what I do when I hear funny noises coming from the car. Just turn up the radio
  5. Does it really matter? Looks great, isn't that what this hobby is all about? Amazing photograph
  6. Bit the bullet and started ballasting during the week. Outside loop is pretty much done, just need to fill in a few spots where the ballast didn't take to the double sided tape. "Rusted" up the rails as well before sticking down. God I hate ballasting. Also, I used Woodland Scenics markers to rustify the track. Easy to use but they really need to supply more than two tips with each marker. The two I got with the last order are in bits even though the marker still feels half full of paint/ink. Or else they need to make the tips more hard wearing. Gonna have to order more just to get the fresh tips. End of rant
  7. How are you applying the ballast Denis? Just laying it down, and then gluing or what? Spraying on glue? I use double sided tape, but I could be in the minority with that one. It makes for a lot quieter running of trains, but it is a pain in the proverbial as you have to build in the sides afterwards. Having tried glue a long time ago, I just couldn,t put up with the noise when loco passed over glued section.
  8. Excellent work Denis. That red oxide looks spectacular. And you have ballasting to look forward to. And you have a LOT of track. Sooner you than me...............
  9. Thanks lads. Yeah, that's exactly how I feel Rob. It was pretty grim going there for a while, but finally beginning to see the light.
  10. Yeah, its nicely tucked away in the corner. . Look at you with your station buildings and towns and whatnot. You certainly have been busy. Keep it up, coming on great
  11. Thanks for that
  12. Cheers for that Dave. Clicked on that and up popped both of my pre orders. Although I have another question now. Is the 141 situation still " expressions of interest" or actual orders?. And when will we be getting actual prices and details of the actual locos? Just wondering............ I like the word "actual"
  13. Sure does Denis. And just spacing out the tracks correctly is bloody tedious. You are getting there now though. Keep it up- look forward to the scenic work. Its what I am doing- or I would lose the plot totally
  14. I dont have an account with IRM. I just order as needed. I will go searching emails and see what I find. Thanks for the replies
  15. Layout looking a bit more civilized at last. Track "underlay" fixed down and the board painted the obligatory grey. The track is just laid loosely in place ahead of sticking down and the dreaded ballasting. Think I will "rustify" the track before sticking down this time. Bit of a pain to do after its in place. I have also put in a few of the old station buildings to give some perspective on what I am planning. Have to rejig the tunnel that was in the corner too. The old facings wont work with the new track radii. Busy busy....
  16. Just wondering lads. How does one check pre orders. I know I pre ordered three Park Royals and a MM 141, but I am damned if I can find any details on them in the SHOP section. Any help please?
  17. Christ! How many did you get? Looks like about 47 or so Also, how did you get that little layout done so quickly? And also, what's a blue sky?
  18. Denis, I could make two sides for you if the standard of my one on my layout would be ok. If you think it is rubbish, just politely refuse. Free of charge of course. You were good enough to offer me a bus you had a couple of weeks ago. If you prefer patented products, it's all good.
  19. straight out of my head James. If you look back to my first post on the layout, it explains it a bit better. It was really a case of what fitted originally. Thanks for the comment though. its looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment
  20. I can confirm that no neighbours were harmed during the making of this video. Only thing shot was the video itself The bang was me knocking a piece of wood onto the floor. Frightened the crap out of me! You can see the camera jump, just as it happens
  21. Ah Denis, the old brush and pan to clean up all the crap, from what used to be your pride and joy. I know all about that action these past couple of weeks
  22. Never let me down either. Postman goes out of his way to deliver stuff for me. Will even make the trek to the garage to find me, if he hears me pottering around out there. Mine arrived Tuesday morning( after Bank Holiday), after being posted Friday. And the wagons are amazing Leslie. I know I have said it already on here, but you can never say it enough
  23. This guy arrived home to find his house gone! Fell victim to progress. Flowers are still there though.
  24. Thanks Tony, but the problem with a points is that I will be replacing the tunnel I removed during my wrecking ball phase. And a points in a tunnel is just asking for trouble. Thanks again Sure do. I also got 2 cattle wagon kits and a brake van kit. Busy busy.
