  1. You're really pushing this Eoin
  2. OK lads. I was totally wrong. Knuckles duly rapped . I wasn't getting at Richard in any way. I was merely trying to point out that it seemed like a lot of money to pay for a single loco. I never meant he was trying to rip anybody off. I am the first to admit I wouldn't have a clue about OO Works.
  3. Pardon my ignorance on these matters Richard. £330 (400euro?) for a loco just struck me as a bit high, so I apologise if I have spoken out of turn. Maybe the fact that it is 00 works? Probably should have kept my thoughts to myself.
  4. Every day is a school day. Thanks. Amazing photo though, isn't it? Look at the guy in the peaked cap, hands in pocket, pure nonchalant. " Ah shur, I see the train came out through the station . Wonder what's for tea?"
  5. This looks like it will be fantastic Dave. Best of luck with it. Can I just ask one thing? Your freehand plan looks to be quite deep ( front to back). Without measurements it's hard to tell for sure. My concern would be "reachability". In other words, will you be able to reach all areas of the layout once it is in place. I'm sure you have it all in hand , but thought I would mention it. I speak from experience here, as , since extending my own layout, when working near the tunnel/ church area I have to take to a set of steps with my calf muscles screaming from the strain of stretching. But I am only three and a half foot tall after all Best of luck again
  6. I bow to your superior knowledge sir. But it did come through the station wall pretty intact all the same. I don't even know what those pieces are
  7. Not a scratch on the front of the loco! Made of stern stuff
  8. Especially if your name is Paul Look closely now.............
  9. Is that your reflection to the right of the word "brake" or is it possibly a spook? Or am I just seeing things?
  10. I know plenty of joiners who get skinned from time to time . Especially around this time of year
  11. Hi Darragh and welcome to the forum. First thing I would do would be to get your layout off the attic floor and on to some kind of baseboard. You're looking for trouble. Your knees must be wrecked. Don't know the first thing about signals, but plenty on here who do.
  12. Double glazed units! Pure notions. Tis far from double glazed units you were reared. Seriously, looking excellent. Keep it up.
  13. My ol footbridge leaves a lot to be desired. It really is the definition of scratch built. (more scrap built). The framework is pieces of red deal (pine), the mesh is just that- plasterers angle bead, and the handrails are insulation from electric cable. Made years ago when I thought one could get away with stuff like that. In other words, before I saw the standard of modelling on here. The sooner @RobertRoche s footbridge becomes available the better, as far as I am concerned
  14. Platforms completed and ballasted in
  15. Sooooo...... The cows round Clogherhead eat liquorice? Oh right, its oil from the buses. Your imagination is a thing to behold @Patrick Davey. Seriously, love the buses! Especially Cork Dry Gin. (The bus that is)
  16. Nice alliteration. Better than puns any day
  17. Don't dis the curtain
  18. Absolutely amazing as always Alan. (I love a good alliteration). The way you got the worn/rotted/splintered effect on the end of the short posts just above the wheels is stupendous. That looks like more than paint and powder? Did you have to get rough with it?
  19. Email sent with order.
  20. Yes Leslie, I am yon ither yin ok( I think) I will send you a PM to confirm order, thanks.
  21. Thanks Leslie. Wow what an offer- 17 for one or 34 for the pair You should have my address from our previous exchanges, but I will gladly send it to you again. Derek
  22. Dunno what a Bangor is and I don't know what a pal is
  23. Yes I would certainly be interested in a couple of the brown ones, they look smashing. But I don't have any pals going to Bangor. I don't even know what a Bangor isIf you could do postage after the show Leslie, I would definitely be interested. Will the price be something similar to the bagged cement wagons?
  24. Thanks Noel. Yes, it is indeed the same as my one. Mine came as part of an Intercity set, with three carriages. Something very impressive about that loco. Getting it as a kid around 1977 was a pure delight
