  1. Hi Darragh and welcome to the forum. First thing I would do would be to get your layout off the attic floor and on to some kind of baseboard. You're looking for trouble. Your knees must be wrecked. Don't know the first thing about signals, but plenty on here who do.
  2. Double glazed units! Pure notions. Tis far from double glazed units you were reared. Seriously, looking excellent. Keep it up.
  3. My ol footbridge leaves a lot to be desired. It really is the definition of scratch built. (more scrap built). The framework is pieces of red deal (pine), the mesh is just that- plasterers angle bead, and the handrails are insulation from electric cable. Made years ago when I thought one could get away with stuff like that. In other words, before I saw the standard of modelling on here. The sooner @RobertRoche s footbridge becomes available the better, as far as I am concerned
  4. Platforms completed and ballasted in
  5. Sooooo...... The cows round Clogherhead eat liquorice? Oh right, its oil from the buses. Your imagination is a thing to behold @Patrick Davey. Seriously, love the buses! Especially Cork Dry Gin. (The bus that is)
  6. Nice alliteration. Better than puns any day
  7. Don't dis the curtain
  8. Absolutely amazing as always Alan. (I love a good alliteration). The way you got the worn/rotted/splintered effect on the end of the short posts just above the wheels is stupendous. That looks like more than paint and powder? Did you have to get rough with it?
  9. Email sent with order.
  10. Yes Leslie, I am yon ither yin ok( I think) I will send you a PM to confirm order, thanks.
  11. Thanks Leslie. Wow what an offer- 17 for one or 34 for the pair You should have my address from our previous exchanges, but I will gladly send it to you again. Derek
  12. Dunno what a Bangor is and I don't know what a pal is
  13. Yes I would certainly be interested in a couple of the brown ones, they look smashing. But I don't have any pals going to Bangor. I don't even know what a Bangor isIf you could do postage after the show Leslie, I would definitely be interested. Will the price be something similar to the bagged cement wagons?
  14. Thanks Noel. Yes, it is indeed the same as my one. Mine came as part of an Intercity set, with three carriages. Something very impressive about that loco. Getting it as a kid around 1977 was a pure delight
  15. Didn't stop you before. Ah, shur I'm only joking. No offence meant. Man up and get on with it
  16. Tell him you know a bit about building yourself, Denis
  17. Thanks Noel. Same reason I keep mine. Yeah, mine growls too. But it ran straight out of the box after being stored for over 30 years Might be dirt cheap Dave, but mine is priceless to me
  18. Noel, any chance of a clearer look at the class 37 in the first photo? Just peeping in at the right hand side. I wonder if it is the same Hornby model I got in the late 70s? Thanks.......
  19. Thanks lads. The ol DAS clay takes a bit of work, but who wants an easy life huh? Yeah Denis, sure I should. Think of all the therapy I could be missing
  20. Progress report on the platforms. First coats of paint on and the das "walling" fixed to the sides. Even got a bit of ballasting done......
  21. Would that be the Dalys of Sligo? Formerly from "the junction"?
  22. Hi Noel, I decided to read over the complete thread (yes all 70 pages) to see how it began, only to see that page one contains pics of an already existing layout. Although this was back in 2012 I am just wondering if you had images posted elsewhere of the beginnings of the layout?
  23. Ah Denis, the ol painting is pure therapeutic...... Embrace it
  24. Someone knocked the bike over. Bloody typical
  25. Just realised Noel, I have never posted on this layout- too busy being awestruck I suppose. So just for the record I want to say: "Ah its alright" Seriously though, it is absolutely amazing (not that you need the likes of me to tell you that). I shudder to think of the hours you have dedicated to it. Absolutely worth the effort. Fantastic! The level of realism is just beyond it......
