  1. Shaping up nicely, love that era as well. Any chance of seeing a close up of that signal box, is it scratch built?
  2. Thanks for all the kind comments, its much appreciated.
  3. The Council are in complete agreement as long as its cleared by tea time!! Its new home will shortly be in the attic where the final touches are been made to insulate the space and tidy up some pipes and the water tank. When done I hope to be able to start on my layout, which I hope to have a running space of 5.5m X 5m. The scale of this beast is a bit over the top for a workable layout and I did think seriously about scaling it down, but in the end railway architecture is what interests me more probably than running the trains themselves so I decided to go the full hog. I have a rough idea how its going to work as a layout but its not in stone yet.
  4. A little more progress made on the roof of the main shed. The sheer size of it is becoming frighteningly real. I've a lot more detail to add yet but I couldn't resist laying out a few bits of track and a couple of locos. Hope you like.
  5. Nice little project, looking good.
  6. Looking very well now, I love the little tinges of green coming through the ballast, very lush.
  7. Excellent report there Ger and looking good, can't wait to see how it progresses.
  8. I'm lost for words, I thought this was a joke till I viewed the downloadable timetables. It looks like some of the elements on the timetable were copied using the print screen command while other parts are vector sharp, I don't get it. Certainly looks like a home job to me and a very poor one at that!!
  9. Coming along nicely, well done.
  10. Good to see someone getting the ball rolling here, looking forward to see how it progresses.
  11. Looking great, this is the kind of madness that went on in Cork
  12. Look'n cracka lackan, love the farm diorama. I especially like the paint effect on the barn roof and the roof slates. Great to see you got the lights working on your aclass, she's looking well.
  13. ...or knock a few walls and go with a lap pool.
  14. Excellent stuff as usual, once you get the valley in then she'll really start to worry.
  15. Sorry, struggling to build one, could never face another.
  16. I hear ya, however given the bashing my wallet tuck over Christmas and more 071's on the way, that will have to wait!
  17. For those not familiar with the back of Cork station this is what it looks like.
  18. Being working on a model of the Cork engine depot to go with my cement works and its a biggie. I was originally going to build this in plaster cast from plastic brick molds, but having seen Richie's work I decided to do it in card. The main structure is built from 2mm card over layered with 220grm card printed from photoshop via autocad. The doors and skylight is made from plastic strip and painted. The roof is pressed tinfoil and painted. Its 1.6m X 60cm in area but I'm thinking of reducing this by 6 arches on the main shed although I'd prefer to be true to the actual building. Feedback appreciated. Here's a bit of painting detail I added to the cement depot.
  19. Thanks Richie, I'll give it a go. Didn't even know the direction of those wheels mattered...wiring is not my bag!!
