  1. Deluxe Materials' perfect plastic putty. No noxious fumes that twist the plastic, water based, sets quickly, and sands perfectly with some wet and dry. Milliput is for sadists! R. (Another red rich perhaps?)

True enough. Each to their own I suppose, but I never had any time for them. A few more of them caught in Feb this year in Dundalk looking in poor shape.
  3. Too true David! I'm doing some drawings of the Dutch Genny Van, and I'm worn out, heart really isn't in it, so I'll go put a Dapol 20' ft Chassis together, and have a little Arthurs to round off an otherwise productive weekend. Thanks for the post, just what I needed! Richie.

Looks like Inchicore Shem. (Never did like them surburban push pull things anyway)
  6. Lovely work as always george, and love the little diorama. You posted a vid somewhere of Humbrol Gloss Cote, and it has some handy tricks on doing panel lining and using washes to make joints stand out. My favourite technique of late, thx. Richie. youtube.com/watch?v=ByMhacC5vAE
  7. Nice one Nelson! Love the commentary - overlay.a 4 coach sandite train would be stunning. ...yummmm
  8. lovely footage, but thata a weirdsetup indeed. I wonder why the mk 1 van? It was said here the tanks are for brake force, but the vanpuzzles me... r Haha ttc, i can just see thesame stock movement about to take placeshortly. Looking forward to it.
  9. Disgustingly good.
  10. Well, somebody asked me recently, having discovered that something was 1mm out on a model, "would anyone notice". I just said to him that he alone would and it would niggle away at him, even if no-one else spotted it. 24 hours later, he called to say that even though it was a pain to start from scratch, he would do it right. If the layout niggles you constantly and takes some of the enjoyment out of the hobby, then start in the other room, I'd suggest. Could you keep the other one as backup to tide you over? Richie.
  11. What mistakes do you think you made out of curiousity? It's a class little layout, which looks like a lot of fun. R.
  12. Mods/dave/georgeC Do the leaflets need changing? I can print and post a batch to send to Cork if needs be? I may have a reluctant courier in Ennis also. Bosko/dave gimme a shout via pm in the morning plz. Happy to put a few hours into this at short notice if needs be. Richie.
  13. Oh that'd be funny. I'd have said OVS Bullied just to see if the admin got the joke, but knowing the IT industry, and the HAL mentality sometimes, you'd probably get a server that says "no. Go home. Guards on their way."
  14. Bugger, thought the first vid was old skool 8mm real footage. Even paused and got a cuppa after a few seconds! This was early in the day too so forgive my gullibility. Lovely work sir, Richie.
  15. Not for me, dont really like thoses roundy roundy type layouts
  16. Re carlow, where's the rest of the building?
  17. Love them all, but the British Columbia is a winner for me. What technique are you using - it's subtle and effective. Richie.
  18. very very nice. Love the pallet wagon. Scratchbuilt too?
  19. John, I'd pay to see that on youtube! At least it would be a useful cat video on there...
  20. I thought " Free to a good home" had its own clearly defined rules by virtue of the language therein;) Just in case, the hoor ate my food, does not catch his own, prefers static life to movement, and happily craps enornmo poo's, particularly when visitors are present. On a good note, he freaks out Mr Bracken, so lets start the bidding at three cents.
  21. Free to a good home - fat old ginger bastard male cat who will happily play with you , then behind your back, jump up on your counter and eat your GORGEOUS CHICKEN DRUMSTICK that you had spent some time oogling over. Likes randomly pissing on couches but handy alarm cat - tries to scratch your eyes out at 6.a.m. Any takers?
  22. http://www.irishrail.ie/cat_news.jsp?i=4932&p=116&n=237 Don't know the exact spot
  23. Don't know enough about the busses to make a guess at where this sits pricewise but if I spent €100 on a model bus, my missus would ate me without salt. The diorama is familiar - Isn't it a member here?
  24. Not sure Nelson. How many would want a half finished kit with neither instructions nor decals? Might be a bargain someone wanting to get their hands dirty at kit bashing, but I wouldn't touch it with a 40' pole.
  25. MIR 121, current bid at a staggering £1.24 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Model-Irish-Railways-121-part-built-with-Frateschi-bogies-99p-no-reserve-/261313900204?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3cd785aeac
